We've never used a tumble dryer, I don't know why people do really. The clothes horse has always done the job perfectly!1

Hi TheAble
We’ve got a very small flat so have to balance the drying of washing against the flat getting over damp and mould growing. Not bad in the warmer months but in winter we sometimes struggle to keep the balance right. On the up side because it is so small it cost buttons to run and it’s mortgage free 😀

Good morning
Its looks absolutely lovely out today, blue sky, the sea is calm and only a light breeze. It’s a shame I’ll be working most of it.
Today is the first day of the reboot of the diet, We’ve really fallen off the wagon but as it’s spring tomorrow we really must start.
I put my winter clothes (only a few jumpers) away and got out some of my more summery stuff. Quite a lot if it fits ( but quite tightly) I tend to wear layers all year round and more dresses in summer.
I’m hearing of people all around me getting the vaccine which is so good. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel. I’m waiting to hear when it’s my turn and I’ll be there like a shot. I hope you and yours are all keeping safe and well.
Off to work

Another one here planning to reboot for March. I lost heart a bit this month. I managed to get my vaccine last Monday. My hubby is on the clinically vulnerable list and I was able to get mine as his carer. I had the Oxford vaccine, felt like I had flu the next day but have been fine since. It’s great to see something going so well and, as you say, it feels like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Happy first day of spring
Its been absolutely beautiful here again today. I’ve not done much today, just a bit of washing and prepped tea. I’m not feeling 100% , a bit headachy, achy and with a slight sore throat. I’ve checked the COVID website and my symptoms don’t fit so that a relief so I’m just taking paracetamol and resting. I was so busy at work yesterday that I suppose it could be have caused by that, my body isn’t used to rushing round any more.We had a lovely family chat on zoom this evening. We’re all counting the days until we can see each other in person.Frugal lunch with left over pasta bake and tea was veggie meat? balls with cauli, carrots, parsnips and gravy was lovely. I’ve loads of food in so should only need milk for the next week ( apart from the takeaway for our anniversary) we’re not bothering with a present this year because it’s not like you can go out to buy anything. We’re aiming on a holiday when we can safely do so and when our favourite garden centre/restaurant reopens they do a fab afternoon tea but apart from that neither of us really want anything ( we’ve never needed anything for years)
It will be interesting to see what Dishy Rishi comes up with in his budget this year. Normally they don’t seem to do much, but this year will be worth watching. I just hope they don’t try to start recouping the money that’s been spent quite yet. I know it will happen eventually but enough people are suffering without adding austerity to the mix. Anyway we shall see.
Time for bed I think
Night night

Hi guys
Ive had a couple of days off posting because all I did was sleep. I started feeling under the weather on Monday but then gained a nasty cough Tuesday night. So I had a COVID test yesterday and this morning the result has arrived. Negative thank goodness. Very efficient, it was done in the middle of a car park. You talked to the people on your phone with the windows up, and any contact was via a long grabby pole through the car window.
One thing this has shown is that I need more simple food in the freezer. We ended up with beans on toast with an egg on top for tea last night. It was just what I needed , I’ve loads of meat and veg in but it all needs preparation and I couldn’t be bothered.Anyway enough of that. It’s gone grey and cold here so the heatings back on. I hope it’s better where you are fellow frugallers.
Keep well

Sorry you've been poorly. Hope you are perking up now.
it might be worth portioning up some home made dinners like a chilli and freezing it. A pack of microwave rice in stock could give you a tasty chilli con carne without too much effort .1 -

Thanks Blackcats I am feeling much better, I’ve slept most of the day again but only an itchy throat and slight headache now.
On looking in the cupboard today I found loads of simple meals but my brain just wouldn’t work when I was feeling rubbish.
I usually have stuff like chilli or lasagne or veggie burgers in but somehow we’ve used up the easy stuff. I’ve remedied this on my next online shop. We’re having take away tomorrow because it’s as near to eating out as we’ll get as it’s our 38th anniversary tomorrow. I’m planning on going out for afternoon tea when we can. I might find a nice cake tomorrow too. You can never have too much cake.

Hi guys
Ive got my COVID vaccination tomorrow 😀😀😀 Ive never looked forward to a needle going in my arm before.I’m expecting it to get busier at work after tomorrow once the schools reopen. I’ve decided that I need to get used to people again, to stop allowing myself to get wound up when there’s crowds. We were talking about holidays with our holiday buddies last night. OH and I were going to Florida in September but really don’t want to now so plan to move to a beach holiday, we’ve got until mid June until we have to pay the balance so we’ve plenty of time to plan and wait to see how opening up of the country goes. A worst case scenario is to move to next year the best will be late September/November. I’m not allowed December off and hopefully we will still be doing our dream New Zealand hol in February 2022. What are your views guys ? Are you planning or do you never want to risk a plane again ?I must admit that I enjoy the planning nearly as much as the holiday.
Anyway time for lunch 😋
