    Thanks Sun_Addict
We've lived in various places with OHs job but now he’s retired this was the logical place to settle, near enough to relatives, close to friends and importantly the land needed an end to it. It was strange living in the middle of the country, you could go all directions. We may be a little odd 😂

    Hi guys
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mums out there. I had my Mother’s Day yesterday because I needed to work today due to a colleagues isolation. As it was it was really quiet so I came home an hour earlier so I’ve had a lazy afternoon.
I really will have to eat sensibly tomorrow, my stomach has started to rebel. I have eaten so much cake 🍰
I’m off work until Wednesday now so I really need to work on a healthy menu plan and get some prepping done. I’ve plenty of healthy food in, I just need to get organised.

    Hi guys
I haven’t checked in recently cos there’s not been much to say. Life is rather boring at the moment. The up moment of the week has been a new mop and bucket 😀
The weather was beautiful this afternoon, lovely blue sky and a gentle breeze. We could do with more days like this. It must be lovely for the gardeners on here, that a little bit of sun and everything starts sprouting.
My online shop arrived this evening plus a large bag of frozen prawns that I hadn’t ordered, not something I’d normally buy but since the delivery guys said keep them and I’ve not been charged bonus. Now to decide what to do with them.
    Keep well guys

hello Cuddlymarm - yes life is a bit unexciting now but it's still nice to read about each other's days.  I was excited to read about your new mop and bucket!  I bought some new light bulbs this week 😂.
I like frozen prawns - you could stir fry them with some noodles or make a special fried rice type dish with them or my favourite Chili prawn linguine with cherry tomatoes.  You could pretend you are eating at zizzi or ask or one of those Italian style restaurants.  😋

I used prawns in a paella for dinner tonight, along with some scallops from the freezer plus a chicken thigh and a piece of chorizo.  Was delicious!  probably the first time I've cooked a paella in about 2 years!

Ooh just reading those ideas is making me hungry. When we revamped our flat we bought new crockery. We’ve large white square plates which makes beans on toast look glamorous ( my old crockery found a home at DS2s)  I’ve got half a bag of lettuce that needs using tomorrow so might do  some of the prawns in a chilli sauce and some noodles on a bed of salad tomorrow.
It wasn’t madly busy at work today, just steady which allowed me to get my jobs done without having to rush.
I’m off tomorrow so it will be a housework day. OH works a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon so I don’t plan on going far anyway. I could meet my friend for a walk and takeaway coffee normally but the one day one of us wasn’t working this week it poured down. Typical. Never mind every day is a bit nearer new normality.

    Hi guys
Just popping by to say hello and see how everyone is doing.
I’ve been at work today and then next on Thursday. It was steady all day and most people are keeping to the rules, apart from a couple of people. One just thought it was annoying that I didn’t hand her her change  and that the whole COVID thing is rubbish. We put it on a tray which is constantly cleaned so no touching of fingers and obviously she hadn’t got a mask on.
Another little treasure must have spent hours on her makeup so there was no way she was wearing a mask 😷 Its a good job I’m good at ignoring customers politely.
We nearly had a pudding emergency after tea 😁 I thought I had a tin of rice pud in but I hadn’t so I just made custard with a blob of jam. Kids food really but it was really satisfying and really cheap.

I can't believe some people's attitude to Covid. I've seen several people in shops not wearing masks, not using the hand sanitiser and shopping in large groups despite the warning on the entrance door.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    Hi Sun_Addict
I can’t decide whether I’m getting immune to peoples bad behaviour because I just get on with it these days and live in hope of not catching COVID. I’ve had two false alarms since June last year which I must admit did scare me silly.
Anyway enough of that. I made salad soup for lunch today. Lettuce, spring onion, half a cucumber and some frozen peas with a couple of stock cubes and herbs. It was lovely, creamy and tasted slightly of cucumber. Unfortunately my lovely low calorie soup was spoiled by OH buying chocolate and cake 😂🍰😂

Today has looked lovely out, but the temperature has started to drop already so it’s cuddly blankie time.
My weekly delivery was this evening so I spent the morning finishing off the remnants of the veg and cheese. I made a lasagne with the tomato soup I made with vegi mince and chopped onion and some herbs. We had egg and air fried tater tots for lunch and the rest of the veg went in the soup maker and is now in the freezer. Good job because the fridge is full again with the leftover lasagne for OHs lunch tomorrow.
I’m really looking forward to meeting our friends in their garden at the end of the month. We speak to them on zoom every week but it will be nice in person.
We’ve just heard from DS1, he’s had his hand taken out of the splint now and has to excercise every day and rest it in its bandage the rest of the time. It could be so much worse. Hopefully we will get to see them over Easter, they want to introduce the puppy to the beach.
