I can’t stand any cruelty to animals it breaks my heart. I get really angry about it. Good luck with SW, it’s all about what works for you.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    Thanks Joedenise and sun_addict
i had got to target with slimming world but then a holiday, then going to stay with my sister when her husband had terminal cancer, then lockdown , then Xmas has just caused so much damage. But slimming world on zoom and then socially distanced classes were no good to me and I think I was in the wrong place, angry with myself for putting the weight back on but not in the right place mentally to deal with it. I’m not back to where I was originally but I’d like to get back to at least 10 and a half stone preferably 10.
On my journey to target most of my clothes went to the charity shop and I got lovely new ones, most of which don’t fit at the moment 😱😱😱 and in theory we’re going to Florida in September ( depending on COVID and whether it’s a safe place to travel to by then) Both OH and me are 60 , me in August and him while we’re there so I’m hoping it can happen. The Disney parks are quite spread out and there’s a lot of walking involved so I want to be fitter and able to make the most of it.
Today I’m having porridge for breakfast, home made leek soup for lunch ( have I told everyone how much I love my soup maker 😂😂😂 ) and turkey, savoury rice and green beans for tea) I need to nip out to get some yogurt cos my online shop doesn’t come until Wednesday evening.
The weather is dull and bleugh but not raining so I’ll have a walk and then pick it up on the way back.
I hope everyone is well and safe and coping in these difficult times, I’m counting the days until spring now, now OH has started his new job I try to walk everywhere but it’s not pleasant if it’s raining and blowing a gale.

@cuddlymarm to make your soup more filling add some pearl barley to it - it's lovely, although I'm not sure about cooking pearl barley in a soup maker as I haven't got one!  I find because it's so filling it makes far more portions than just leek or leek and potato using the same amount of leeks, which of course is very MSE!

I don't like the Zoom meetings either but as a target member it means I can more or less just do it on my own and send my weight in every 6 weeks or so which is better for me.

Did you get the Fresh Start booklet when you joined SW online?  There's some nice recipes in it.  You can download it from the website if you didn't get the physical book.

I’ll have a look online for the recipes, I did have a lot saved before so I’ll go through and do that again. I topped up on plain fat free yoghurt and have got some of my frozen banana glut out to make a fruit fool and have bought some apples and bananas to graze on if I get hungry. I’ve got the last of my sale Xmas clothes due to arrive this afternoon which will be nice to try on. I’ve bought some little tunic dresses in the sale which are a little tight in places so I try on regularly to keep myself on track.

Can I suggest to check out Pinch of Nom and Slimming Eats for SW recipes as well as the SW website.  There's also Two Chubby Cubs but you'll need to skim past all the blurb as their language can be a bit ripe!  All 3 websites have some good recipes.  Have to admit my favourite of the 3 is the Slimming Eats one.
  • I got my soup maker out this week as well. Made sweet potato and chorizo so yummy and will do me for rest of week with my bread roll 👍

Ooh that sounds nice Sarah , I haven’t attempted any soups that aren’t just veg and herbs yet.
I’ve finally got to the end of my veg supply, I’ve a few frozen Brussels sprouts and green beans left in the freezer so I’ll have to wait till my online order arrives tomorrow evening. I’ve started booking evening slots because the work rota keeps changing. This is my first proper shop of the year, I’ve managed with top ups from Lidl because I’d bought so much in for Xmas. OH had smoked salmon and creme cheese on crackers yesterday and today. I keep thinking we’re at the end of the Xmas food and then I find more. I’ve still got loads of cans and packets.
I got to work today to be told I won’t be working tomorrow and from now on we’ll be getting two slightly longer shifts a week and furlough top ups. We’re just going to have to ride it out and hope things start to improve.
My sister had her COVID vaccination at the weekend ( she’s in her 60s and works in an old people’s home) They did everyone, residents and staff. She said she felt rough for a day and night but with plenty of liquids and paracetamol it soon cleared up. Apparently it’s a common thing and some of her workmates were the same. The sooner we get everyone done the better.
The weather was awful today and apparently the worst of storm Cristophe isn’t here yet. I’m glad I won’t need to go out.
    Keep well and warm guys

    Hi guys
Defrosted the freezer before my delivery arrives. I wasn’t planning on it but OH didn’t close the door properly. Luckily he didn’t do too much damage but it was quite frosty so I used the hairdryer to speed the process and I’ve made soup with the half defrosted veg and had lunch of what wouldn’t have survived. I’m making Brussels sprout and green bean soup 🤔 I googled what herbs go well with green beans and chose garlic and Rosemary, pepper and a couple of stock cubes. We shall see.
Im looking forward to seeing what Joe Biden is going to do. Trump worried me, I sure he is slightly unhinged.
It’s rained solidly all night and all day here and is showing no letup. I will be so happy when spring arrives.
