You're making me think I ought to have a soup maker @cuddlymarm. But it seems such a waste to me when I can do exactly the same with a saucepan, LOL! So a want not a need for me.4

I am a big soup maker, always used the pan and liquidiser method. Then I bought a soup maker, total game changer. Bung everything in, 20 minutes later lovely creamy soup. Definitely no going back for meI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Good morning guys
I thought I’d just check in before I go to work. I don’t think it’s as cold out today, but still really chilly. It’s my last shift until next year😀
It’s such good news about the vaccine today, it feels like progress even though it’s going to take a while. I just hope people carry on being careful. When the other vaccine came out we had an older lady come into the shop, very excited, no mask, saying it’s all over now and we can go back to normal. We were all gobsmacked and tried to explain she still needed to be careful. I hope she was ok.
Im still wading my way through my veg glut and am really craving winter food so I think tonight’s tea will be bacon, beans and wedgie potatoes with Cajun seasoning. I finish at 2 15 so I’ll probably finish off the soup I made on Monday.
My economy drive is going well, I’ve moved my online shop on a week cos we just don’t need anything.
Anyway time for work 👋

Have a good day at work. Another soup maker fan here - a total game changer for me. Particularly when I'm working from home - lovely nutritious lunch which really makes itself plus so much less wasted veg.5

Hi guys
well I’d only been home for a couple of hours when my boss phoned and said that as we’ve moving into tier 4 they are closing at 3 30 tomorrow and we have to wait for further info. It looks like furlough is on the cards again but I’ll probably know more tomorrow.
With the new more contagious type of COVID working it’s way up north I think I’d like to go back into furlough as when we were in lockdown before Xmas as a takeaway food shop we were really busy. Lots of people were travelling in to shop with lots of the shops having reasons to stay open. But I can’t afford to refuse if they decide to keep the shop open so we’ll have to see.
If I do go back on to 80% of my wage again we’ll manage, I’ve plenty of food in and am very good at streeeeeeetching meals as far as possible.
Anyway keep safe guys

We’ve been moved to Tier 4 today too. Won’t make any difference to me as I’ve been working from home since March. I realise how lucky I am that I can do this. My DS found when he was on furlough he wasn’t that much worse off as he didn’t have travelling costs. I would’ve thought a takeaway could stay open though, might even get more custom.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Another vote for soup makers. Chop it chuck it in and out comes soup. Easy peasy.

Hi guys
Well it has been decided that we’re keeping the shop open for now, but cutting the staff hours down to the bone. Our living room looks bigger now and quite bare now I’ve packed the decorations away. Another year done.
We’ve a nice bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for later. It’s rare we stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve and even rarer that we go out ( even when we are allowed to) but it will be nice to see the New Year in.
I’m doing a nice lamb roast tomorrow which I’m quite looking forward to. I’ve come to the end of my chocolates and we’ve only a few biscuits left so the healthy eating is about to commence.
I got paid a day early so I’ve now knocked some off my credit card and put £10 in my emergency account. Not much but better more off where I’m paying interest.
Anyway Happy New Year everyone 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Happy new year. I'm on the Prosecco tonight too. Looking forward to following your journey and seeing how far we all come on our money saving journey in the next 12 months.4
