Cauliflower cheese is my favourite.  If you end up with leftover veggies then your soup maker will help you create some nutritious concoctions.  Good to get a couple of extra hours pay - I hope your shift goes quickly tomorrow.

Thanks Blackcats I hope so too
Everythings ready for Xmas now, all I have to do is finish work tomorrow and then relax. DS2 is doing all the prep tomorrow and cooking the Christmas dinner, I’m proud that both my boys can cook a really good roast.
Well the daily report has left us in level 3 for now, not that I’m planning on buying anything else now even though the shops are going to still be open. I’m relieved that we’re well stocked up after the chaos at Dover, just an idea of what’s to come in the new year. I feel so sorry for anyone stuck in that chaos.
We’re settled in front of the tv with Xmas films on now 😃 merry Christmas guys 🎄🎄🎄

We are also staying in Tier 3, not that it will make that much difference to us right now, we’re not going anywhere. Glad you’re ready for Christmas and can relax once that final shift is done. Have a lovely Christmas 🎄☃️

    Hi guys
    Merry Christmas
The celebrations have taken on a life of their own this Xmas, but lovely anyway. DS2 came down with a cough and a headache on Wednesday evening so got a COVID test yesterday so we’ve moved the turkey dinner bit until tomorrow until his results come back. They promised as soon as possible so we’ve had a socially distanced family Xmas opening presents on zoom and we’ve grazed all day, mainly sherry and chocolate. Luckily we had goodies at both houses and he doesn’t live far away if he’d needed anything. We should have been going to DS1s on Boxing Day but that had already been cancelled.
This Xmas will still be remembered as lovely and if anything more relaxing.
I hope everyone is well and having a lovely day.

Fingers crossed the test comes back as negative.  I agree that as strange as it is this year, the day itself has been ok - less pressure than usual (if just for a few days we can exclude Covid related stresses).
Sherry and chocolates sounds good to me

Good news on the negative test. I was 60 this year, we’d booked to go to Ibiza, had a lovely hotel booked with sunset views. That got cancelled but fortunately got to spend my big birthday in Zakinthos which was still lovely. Missed all the celebration lunches I had booked with my friends though ☹️ Will hopefully make up for it next year 🤞Surely things will be better by September and you’ll get your special holiday.

  • Glad it came back negative and you still got your xmas dinner. We are similar. Youngest 2 are contacts so they have to isolate till 28th. We had arranged grandparent to come for dinner but couldnt do it. They did a doorstep present drop and was went home alone which we felt awful about and we had xmas dinner just us. A meal arranged for next weekend instead before kids start mixing again in school-as long as nothing scuppers it

    Hi guys
The temperature has really fallen here, but the winds have dropped and we’ve no snow so that’s a bonus. It’s nice to look at but I don’t like walking in it any more, it hurts if you fall down.
We’ve started our healthy eating regime but we’ve still got sweets and biscuits left so they’ll be integrated into the meals until they run out. I made a really nice soup this morning from the leaves from a cauliflower, the ends of bags of frozen onions, peppers and a few peas with stock cubes and paprika. Cost buttons and there’s still some left for tomorrow. I really like my new soup maker.
