Thanks guys
Our shop is closed Xmas day and Boxing Day, the difference this year is that there’s not the extra hours available. I’d rather do just my basic hours anyway until I’ve had the immunisation cos I know there is a risk of catching COVID cos I’m dealing with people and money.
Tomorrow is another day and I’m going to try and eat sensibly and if it’s dry have a nice healthy walk. We’ll see 😃

Hi guys
Quite a nice day today. Popped to the pet shop for a toy for DS1s puppy for Xmas, then dropped some presents off for a friends grandson. After that we went to our favourite garden centre/ restaurant, they are only doing takeaway but we bought cake and a rolo hot chocolate ( it was fab )
On the up side too I woke up to the news that our cruise hol had been refunded so is now back in the saving account until needed. After the headache with Tui this was just lovely news.

Good news you got the money back. I must say Jet2 were very prompt with our two cancelled holidays earlier this year. Fingers crossed it won’t be too long until we can travel again 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Hi guys
Today has been a spendy day. Lidl have soup makers in at £35 and as I’ve been wanting one for ages and this is the best price I’ve found I snapped it up. In theory it will be better because I won’t have as many cans to recycle and I won’t waste any veg.I’m not bothering with a big shop this week, I’ve so much in but topped up on milk and fresh stuff to save going again. The football is on later so I’ve made a big cottage pie for tea when DS2 comes to watch. The last of the Xmas cards are written and ready to go to the postbox but it’s raining so they can wait.
I’m feeling quite virtuous today getting so much done 😇😇😇

I love my soup maker too. I’ve been making my own soup for years and used to cook it in a pan then liquidise it. So much easier with the soup maker, just throw everything in and 21 minutes later fresh soup and only one thing to wash. Seems to taste creamier too for some reason. My favourite is butternut squash chickpea and lime.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Some nice sounding soups there which I'm going to add to the list to try. I usually only do mixed veg, spicy carrot & coriander; carrot & lentil; leek and potato. Need to try some different ones. Have to admit I do mine in the saucepan and then liquidise; I've not really got space for any more gadgets so I'll just have to carry on!4

Another fan of a soup maker here. When I bought mine, my OH scoffed and said we'd never use it. Goodness me, we use it all the time - at least 3 times a week in the winter. Sweet potato and chorizo sounds nice. I love making spicy fridge bottom soup - using up all my veggies. I confess to making bread in the bread maker and soup in the soup maker and thinking a similar (but probably less tasty) lunch would cost around £5 a head In an artisan cafe.I hope you have fun using yours. I used to follow recipes but now I throw it all in and see what happens 😋3

Hi guys
i haven’t had chance to use my soup maker yet. I’m going to give mushroom soup a try tomorrow.
As I’m all sorted for Xmas now, I’m going to put my thoughts to getting as much debt down in the new year. I’m going to give myself a food budget of £15 a week to work alongside what I’ve already in my freezer and cupboards for a few weeks to knock a bit extra off the debt. The days are flying by, it will soon be next year. Hopefully 2021 will be a bit kinder.

Hi guys
The last of the cards have been posted and I have finally put the stuff away that had to come out while I hid the Xmas presents so it’s nearly tidy here. The mushroom soup was a success, not as thick as OH would have liked but it tasted really nice and so easy just putting it in the soup maker and getting on with other things. With leftovers too.
This afternoon I’m going to put my feet up and watch something Christmassy, maybe a mince pie or two too 🎄😃🎄😃🎄
