Hi guys
I’ve had a lazy yet productive day. Firstly I argued with the tv watching Andrew Marr then watched Frozen (I just love that film) while OH watched the motorcycling on the other tv.
Tea is ready to cook, pork loin steak, roasties, mashed swede and Brussels with gravy then pud is a bit of an experiment. Bread and butter pudding made from the last of a loaf of bread and custard powder.
I’m on holiday all week so am just going to veg out ( as if I’m on a real holiday) 😎😎😎
It will be interesting to see what Boris has to say tomorrow, I doubt if it will make a difference to how busy it is round here. If the lockdown is lifted chances are we will still be in the highest level anyway. It would be nice if they could make a decision on what Christmas will be allowed to be like so we can plan accordingly.
OH is driving me daft wanting to start on the Xmas sweets 😋 but Xmas doesn’t start properly until December. I am looking forward to decorating earlier this year though and we’re recording a nice collection of Xmas films ready. Is anyone else decorating early this year? and what traditions have you built over the years? One thing I have learned this year is to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Keep well and warm.

Hello Cuddlymarm, just been reading through your diary and it sounds so nice and cheerful. I also remember miners strikes and power cuts. I remember my primary school having to have the Christmas Carol concert by candlelight- wouldn’t be allowed now - elf and safety 🤣 I also noticed you mentioned Parkin cake which my dear mum loved and would get my aunt in Sheffield to buy for her and pick up when we visited - that and Henderson’s Relish 😁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

You can get Henderson's Relish in the south now! I picked some up in Mr Ts recently because they didn't have any Worcestershire sauce in stock!

You made me smile about your OH wanting to start on the Christmas sweets! Oneofmy traditions has been the Yank*e candle advent calendars, but this year it seemed like the same design as last year, so I've put together my own collection of scented candles - tea lights during the week and votives at the weekend when they will be alight for longer. It probably cost less too as some tea lights were already in my stash from previous years. I am very excited to start lighting them.
have a good week5 -
That's a great idea for an advent calendar @Blackcats for anyone who likes scented candles and as you say much cheaper than buying new ones when you already have some and don't need to buy loads. Roll on 1 December!

Hi guys
Im still plodding through the candles that I got last Xmas. Also the nice bottle of gin that was a Xmas present 🎁
Day 2 of my week off and nowhere to go so a lazy day for me 😃 with the added bonus of not spending a penny.
Tea is organised, it just needs cooking. I’m plodding through the freezer food this week to fit in the pavlova for Xmas day pud, I’ve a few half packs of things that need using up. My cupboards are now groaning cos I’ve stocked up with tins and packets as well as the Xmas stuff ready in case of Brexit shortages/unemployment/needing the food money for an emergency. We went bankrupt in 2009 and I can never have empty cupboards, it makes me uncomfortable.I don’t know why Boris bothers telling us what’s going to happen because it’s been all over the news all morning. It looks like we’ll be going back into the highest tier but we’ll be able to have regular tests. This could be a good thing for me because I work facing people and touching money. I do sanitize my hands often but I still wonder whether we could be unintentionally spreading it.
I’m counting the days till I put my tree up now 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Anyway TTFN

Hi guys
Another lazy day for me. I was going to treat myself to a Black Forest hot chocolate and muffin as I had a 30% off costa voucher if you ordered online and collected, but our area doesn’t do it yet and the weather is bleugh so I’ll do it another day.
I’m attempting to clear room in the freezer at the moment and I’ve managed to empty a whole drawer so a minor triumph.OH is out for the afternoon so I’ve my feet up with a coffee and rubbish tv on 😃
Life isn’t very exciting at the moment, but that’s probably a good thing
Anyway TTFN

Lazy days are good - they make a nice change from the usual busy working day. Enjoy! Hot chocolate sounds nice. I bought mini marshmallows and nice hot chocolate to make my own as a treat - trouble is I keep grabbing handfuls of marshmallows to eat.3

Hi guys
i had to go out today for bread and to pop into work and see if next weeks rota was up yet. It wasn’t but I treated myself to my promised hot chocolate yum it was lovely.
We’ve decided to leave the kids to decide who’s in who’s Xmas bubble. OH can talk to DS1 so that he doesn’t feel guilted into choosing to come to us. DS2 is in our bubble anyway so we’re all classed as one house. It’s only one Xmas, and we can zoom them during the day. The new rules, even if we are in tier three say that you can have 6 people meeting outside so we can swap presents. We seem to spend our lives waiting for the next update at the moment. The veg shop in town had loads of Xmas trees outside, but surely they’d be naked by Xmas day if you brought them in the house now, 🎄🎄🎄Egg and chips for tea. I know it’s not my five a day but sometimes it’s just a little of what you fancy that does you good.
The weathers supposed to go really chilly tomorrow brrrrr
Keep well and warm
