    Hi
The bread turned out like half scone half bread. Nice though. I’m going to try just leaving it out covered overnight and baking the next day. My baking always is a bit of an adventure.
I ventured into my local card shop this morning to stock up on November and Decembers birthday cards. I also got some more Xmas cards and paper in case the shops don’t reopen before Xmas, as Michael Gove said this morning on tv that if the numbers don’t drop low enough the lockdown will probably continue. Lots of other people had the same idea. Luckily I’ve got T**sco delivery coming Thursday so I’ve no intention of going anywhere near a supermarket this week.
I also transferred my little great nephew money so his mum can get him a present early cos his birthday is on Friday. I struggled to get birthday cards and presents in the first lockdown so I’m going to be organised this time.
    Anyway better go
    Keep safe and warm guys

    Hi guys
It’s a lovely, sunny but chilly day here. I do like a bit of sunshine even if it is cold.
I’m having a lazy day. OH has gone for a chest X-ray, he’s got a cough he’s had for a long time so the gp decided to investigate.
DS2 is coming for tea so I’m trying to get his scarf finished so he can take it home with him. The weather man says it’s going to get colder this week and he hasn’t got one at the moment.
I’ve a chilli cooking nicely in the slow cooker which should be enough for tonight and to make a pasta bake for another night.
I’m still waiting for work to decide whether they are staying open this lockdown. We can be classed as a takeaway but it wasn’t worth it last time. I might hear later.
    Anyway time for lunch

    Hi again guys
My boss phoned earlier. They are closing some shops but ours is going to reduced hours for now to see if it’s worth staying open, the next few days will be an experiment. The last lockdown went very quiet very quick, but people were scared and not going out unless absolutely necessary then and I’m sure they are any more so we will see.
DS2 loved his scarf and tea turned out really well with loads left for at least another meal. I need to work on my next few days meal plan to stretch out what we got to save a few pennies. I made a marmalade sponge for pudding with the last of a tub of ice cream, really yummy and didn’t cost much.I’m aiming for more cheap meals to keep as much of my wages intact.

Hello Cuddlymarm, I hope your work is viable for this lockdown month.  It's such a difficult time.  You sound very resourceful so I'm sure you will make the best of it.  Marmalade sponge sounds yummy.

    Hi guys
The marmalade sponge turned out really well. The banana and raisin loaf turned out more like a malt loaf, it still didn’t last long though.
Today my weekly shop arrived. The driver was a little bit gloomy cos first day of the lockdown and they are really busy.
Saying that, you wouldn’t have known the lockdown had started, the road was really busy. It’s quietened a bit now though.
Im at work on Sunday but the opening hours are only for 4 hours and then I’ll know what I’m doing next week then. I’ve only been as far as the bin today, I was going for a walk but it started to rain and I’m not that desperate for fresh air yet.
I need to pop into Boots and see if they have flu vaccine in yet, I’d been told to wait until November and I don’t want to go into town for just one reason.
Tea is pastabake made from leftover chilli and value pasta with a bit of sprinkled cheese. Cheap, filling and yummy.
This weeks food probably only came to about £20. The minimum spend is £40 but the other £20 was presents, two bags of ground coffee, a big box of chocolates and the turkey foil. I’ve hardly noticed my Xmas shop by just doing a bit every week.
    Anyway I better get on

    Hi guys
The weather has been lovely today. We had a walk along the prom and then had a takeaway coffee at the coffee stand and then walked back. Very relaxing. I’m so lucky living near the sea.
I paid a chunk of my wages off the credit card and some into the Xmas money account and then I’ve got enough for my online shop. I’m aiming on not spending anything (mainly by not going near any shops) for the next month apart for my online shop.
I am at work still but I normally only do 16 hours and I’m not sure how many of these will be on furlough yet.
It was cauliflower cheese for tea, simple but nice. I had the end of the chilli I made earlier in the week for lunch.
I need to go through the freezer and make a meal plan but life is so exciting at the moment I may save that for tomorrow.
I hope everyone is keeping well

  • Fingers crossed for you.
I agree people will be out and about more this lockdown.
I've not noticed a change on the roads. Last time it was like a ghost town and work gave us letters to say we were key workers incase we got stopped!
Well done on getting the christmas shopping done

    Hi
The roads are just as busy as normal so I’m not holding out a much hope for the furlough getting the COVID numbers down.
I’m not looking forward to work tomorrow. They’ve knocked us down to being open for 4 hours but only two staff so if there’s still loads of people about we’re going to be rushed off our feet.
Oh well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

    Hi guys
Yesterday was busy like I expected. I don’t think people have quite got the idea of lockdown. I was under the impression that you are supposed to go out long enough to buy the essentials and then stay home, not bring the whole family to trail around the town. No point getting annoyed I suppose.
This morning was good that I managed to get my flu jab. We had to collect OHs prescription so I asked and they said they could do it straight away. I’m relieved cos it’s one thing less to worry about.
    Keep well guys
