Aww 2p, love your link
Just the thing for post-imbibition mornings when you're ...a little tender...
We're all off to the beach today apparently, with himself's 'orrible sisters and chill'un. But they got puppies for christmas so I'll put my big girl pants on and try real hard.
Cooler here today - 5' but feels like 2' and the wind has finally subsided.
I hope everyone had a good day yesterday and/or came through it in one piece (delete as applicable)I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Well, the big day's been and gone. It barely stopped raining here, and we still had a fair amount of non-sprout-driven wind.
None of us ate too much, which is maybe why the kids were up at 02.00 having an impromptu meal, or perhaps it was because they couldn't go outdoors and wear themselves out properly.
Today, it's actually calm and not raining. :)Though a little colder, it still feels as warm as yesterday and there's a promise of some sunshine later on. We could be up for a walk in the nearby forest. It would be good to take the opportunity, as it seems another front will be heading our way in the late afternoon, and it's supposed to rain for most of the day tomorrow.
Besides, listening to the voices of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther etc declaring their incredible powers across the kitchen table, while doing absolutely bu99er-all about war and poverty, is gradually getting to me!
And why is it, when even your fridge has smart technology inside, these 30cm plastic nonentities seem locked in the 90s, with a vocabulary of only 5 tedious sentences?
I finally got a reasonable photo of the neighbour's unusual sheep a few days ago, though the light was bad. They aren't kept for commercial reasons and seem to mingle with the other sheep which come and go in that field according to the state of the grass.Chunky-looking things, aren't they! Any ideas about the breed?"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity5 -
Glad you enjoyed it. Lovely to have something that makes you smile and chuckle instead of 'in your face' we get now.
Oooooo puppies! Can I come?
You going in for the boxing day swim?
Been out looking at the garden as its not raining today but I know I planted sunflower seeds and ferns but can't remember which pots it's been so long.
Yesterday I had lots of small birds trying out my new feeders and could hear blackies but they haven't been round yet. It's so mild still I think they can all find their own food.
9c and no wind it feels good.
Overslept because it's all so quiet so missed the group walk. Stocking up on sleep before the new year all night fireworks.
Wet tomorrow they say so I'll start downloading some photos.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Dull & grey with promise of sunshine later, but lies have been uttered beforeEnjoy the beach YBE, we used to walk along the prom on bright Boxing Days, blowing cobwebs awayNice sheep Dusty, they look like fluff ballsI've a bit of sore throat & sniffles this morning, hope I'm coming down with “Something”. I do have emergency Fisherman's friend to hand, but will eat plenty of fruit in the shape of Chocolate orange, plus some dried fruit stuffed inside mince pies.Up early due to cough, here's what is around early in the morning, moon through treesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7

Just sat down did a clean up, returned stuff to where it belongs, the younger ones had shifted the bigger furniture back, put the plates back in the top of the cupboard,as I would need a step up and it’s surprising how heavy the plates are,.
Today I have pegged out a wash, and the sun has just come out, the plan was a short walk somewhere.
Dds did a great job with Xmas dinner, hope they realize they’ve set theirselves up for a repeat next year. We did a good job of filling the brown bin with wine bottles, lots of clanking going on, and lots of singing later as we watched the channel 5 🎤 karaoke 😂
saw the full moon last night in the wee hours ! No chance of looking to photograph it,straight back to bed.
Dusty those sheep have funny noses, I’ve not seen them before. Weather looks the same here according to ventusky today is the best of the week.
YBE are you near the coast then? I don’t drive but love the sea and would love a walk on a windy prom today. Sunny but wrapped up ! Enjoy.

Ahhh this site does skip posts sometimes.
Dusty, like Herdwicks but with a black face. Generally amiable so easy to keep. I've been watching Matt Baker Our Farm
Farway, hope the cough gets better. I've got one too. Neighbour spotted it as not too bad. Two coughs at a time.
Wort, you are a busy bee! I did manage a photo last night to my surprise. Photo group has night as a theme for next year and I don't have a tripod. May go down to the beach tonight and see if I can do better.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The beach was packed! Wort we are near the coast as you look at a map - it's just up and right a wee bit - but it's a beggar to get to. It's either lots of main road with roundabouts and constant roadworks and solid traffic, or back way country roads. 20 ish miles can take near on an hour. If it was any easier I'd be there all the time
The weather was lovely and mild and calm, considering it's always cold on the beach, and I got a great pic of the moon before the clouds swallowed it. In real life it was that pretty there were lines of people all taking pics. Tide was nearly all the way in by the time we were ready for off so I took ooh 200 pics trying to get a moon + spray shot. I got one but it wasn't worth the effort ha haa! I'll put them up anyway.
I did take wellies and socks off and go in for a quick paddle. The water wasn't at all warm and it'd take a hard soul to fully swim in it. It was rough water so all the fishermen were out and I got talking to this one fellah (who was laughing like hell when I squeaked at the cold water) as he was reeling his fish in. It was his 4th haddock and he wasn't at all happy about it - he said it was a bad omen for the coming year. Is that right is it? Why's that then? Cos they should be in the cold of Russia or Greenland or Iceland and not anywhere down here where it's too warm. Very bad mutter mutter bad year to come. So there you go, you heard it here first.
The puppies were a bust. One is a tiny wee cackapoo x something (chihuahua possibly), probably off her mother too young, v nervous and stressy and would take some real work. The other was a labradoodle x something (wolfhound imo) that's really gonna take some work. She's 5 months old, nearly up to my ribs, and not far off realising her own strength. She's gonna be monstrous, she really is. And I was promised a day out with a lab and a spaniel!
I don't know what your sheep are Dusty, mean looking though eh They look like they're considering running at you!
I hope your cough doesn't turn into that lurgy thing Farway, hot toddy and with a slice of lemon in it every hour on the hourAnd stop kissing dirty girls!
Did you get to the beach 2p? Was it lovely and calm and wild and marvellous?OT (finally) its properly persisting it down out there and has been this last couple of hours at least. Set in for the day too they reckon. No matter, it’s the Dunelm sale so I’m off to big town for bargains :clapping:I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

2p did you and your tripod get back to the beach? Wish I was patient enough to be arty.
YBE that’s a heck of a seagull, it would have more than your chips off you, and by the sounds of it the labradoodle would manage the gull! My cousin has a labradoodle huge it is, how they manage in their house with 2 large boys and their parents and dog in a terrace.
The fisherman probably knows more about weather prophecy than the drunks and sobers, we shall see.🫣
Yesterdays walk in the sun was great , after lunch dd came and I realized it had rained. So the wash was wet and it stayed dull and dreary so the heat went on and washing strewn around the maiden.
Today it’s nearly 9 and still as dark as night it was 14 in my living room when I got up, with rain lashing the windows and windy with it. So I’ve put the heating on brought a fat pillow down big fur throw and I’m set for a day of nothing .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.2 -
Beautiful photos!
Spray and moon, very clever
AND a council with some imagination. Wow! Love those.
Beach was rammed with people. By night it was solid cloud so no shots. Went to Tescos and bought discounted food for the freezer.
Next storm is on its way today from me to you all. I remember the past when you only got 2 storms in a winter.
I did get some jasmine tied up to the fence.
Woke to wet and 14c, very dark, no wind yet. That'll bring it down again. I can see some already wafting around from the window.
Hope there's time to go for a walk before it sets in but again, no gardening today.
Oh! Storm warnings off now - after it had been plastered all over the news. Not sure if that's good news or bad.
Back to the Cornish weatherstone then.
