Love that too Paspatur. And The Bucket ListSurprise when I got home this morn. The Hamamelis (witch hazel) has burst into bloom - the Viburnum is covered - and some lavender hidcote, perenial wallflowers, Gertrude Jekyl rose and of course the climber. The air should be gloriously fragarant if the wind didn't blow it away.Managed to get the steps out and saw off the Ceonathus branch that was escaping over my neighbours shed and got it back over my side. She wouldn't let me in and said she wasn't worried about it being over her shed roof.I was as I don't want to be paying for a new roof where it rubs!Thought of continuing as it's easy to move around this time of year but sundowns coming. They promise it will be dry and bright tomorrow so .........................

My tastes are somewhat varied!Metropolis (1927) esp. with the Giorgio Moroder soundtrack, but the restored extra bits version makes more sense! The Rutles - All You Need is CashTough outside today, but I did get the old leaves cut from the hellebores. Well yesterday sand blasted, today salt blasted.Sheesh I went to a pebble bank by the sea and the spray from the crashing waves was blowing right across. I had to lash my camera bag to a post and I had to kneel down to keep steady - but it was amazing! On the beach where it;s clay soil, salt blasted the little daisy like flowers were blooming just fine.I also passed Narcissi planted in a wall in full bloom and lots of roses growing over cottage doors. The one thing that amazes me and I saw in a tub at the railway station by the sea was a blooming aster type thing and I saw it again growing right in the teeth of the wind in an open bed.Farway, I'm in the same boat. I need to prune the fruit for shape and sturdiness but fear no fruit. There's even buds developing on my mini cherry. It's gone crazy here.May stay in and get some work done tomorrow

Maybe not. Can't get mine to bloom at this time of year.Still mild, wet, and a bit windy. I've several missions to accomplish, as have half the nation, I suspect!

Aww aren't they lovely wee daisies
I'm a bit envious of all your flowers 2p, I've nothing here except my one rose bud that's still undecided.
Cuckoo's Nest is a great film Pas. Eclectic film tastes here too. I like the Russian classics - Zhivago, Karenina - full and chunky and absorbing. Pride and Prejudice/Sense and Sensibility etc. Old films - An affair to remember, how to marry a millionaire etc. But then I like ones like Stardust (2007) - really sweet little film, and it's on next weekWorth a watch if you've not seen it. I'll have a look for the ones yous have mentioned.
Speaking of roses 2p have you got your eye on one? Got a page bookmarked have ya have? Maybe work out a place for it when you're gardening today.
Windy out there still but it's drying everywhere up a treat. Mild but 'feels like' is a bit cool, I'll have to get out and titivate today.I oppose genocide. I support freedom of speech. I support freedom of assembly.5 -
While we’re off topic, here’s a festive funny

Overslept and now got to fight the crowds for stuff
But, woke up to blue skies, sunshine and warm wind. So doubt there's enough daylight for gardening even if my bits worked. Need to go out and enjoy this.
Dusty, it's more of a feverfew. White with a yellow middle and feather leaves. I used to know what it was. Always grows on compacted soil and sand.
Yes Bluey, the flowers surprised me. All wrong more than a delight..
My dark red rosebud has opened but it's so battered by wind and rain it's not pretty.
The wind has blown more than half the leaves off my arch one......looks a bit fred bear now.
Farway, how many seeds have you bought on offer. Remember the new year sales start Tuesday
It's meant to rain from tomorrow on so plenty of time to do the ordering etc. Not sure about the rose now. I have so many random bits to find a home for not to mention a Christmas tree!I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Dull and breezy, looking like a wet Christmas here, which may not be ideal for kids but OK for me.DGD is supposed to be coming South today, no idea how she will get on with the rest of the population on the move, but It's all experience and something to learn from at that age, isn't it?twopenny said:

Spooky, we were just talking about Cuckoo's Nest yesterday. We're watching a series called Deadwood at the moment (recommended, but don't watch if you're easily offended by swearing
) and one of the characters, Doc, is also in Cuckoo's Nest. My DH says the actor has been excellent in everything he's seen him in. I can't remember his name though...
One of my favourite films is Hugo - absolutely magical. I'd have to think about my second favourite, maybe Shakespeare in Love, Chocolat or Amelie... We watched Die Hard last night (from the sublime to the ridiculous) something we watch every year at this time.
The weather here has been appalling - lots of heavy rain, strong winds, just dreich... more of the same over the next few days too.'A watched potato will never chit'...4
