Facinating. Are you going to use it?
Another bright, mild day but the NW wind brings the brrrrrrrrrrrr factor.
No gardening today because the mild weather plus the lower temperatures are keeping the soil moist.
Woodlice and other creatures are decimating my winter pansies I notice. Not a lot I can do about that except sulk.

Yes. Just it's a lot easier to peel them when they are ripe rather than completely dry. So yellow is hopeful.

We grew one from some random seeds a few years ago and my bit still gets used a skin buffer on occasion.

I think we'll all get some bits and some sections may end up as Christmas presents.

Had a very useful day yesterday. More summer pruning as the leaves are still on the trees. And learnt how to deal with my massively disorganised vines. T'was hard to get going again after lunch as our dinner spot was warm and the sun shone for a while.

If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Just popping my head round the door to wave hello, the cold weather here knocked me off my feet for a while but I managed to disinter some brandy from the back of the stores which helped to lubricate my seized joints so I'm now shambling about again but my body clock hasn't quite caught back up yet.
Lovely photos @Farway - especially the clematis, fabulous colour.
No sign of @Davesnave yet I notice but his name is still there in the drop down list so I assume that means he'll return someday soon.
Like @twopenny I'm fascinated by the loofah @RAS and would love to see photos of the various stages it goes through.
Sorry to hear about your ravening woodlice hordes 2p and hope that some kind predator fancies a crunchy snack.

@farway and 2p please check for my green handled snips ! I always keep in kitchen drawer for cutting flowers 🌸 but they have vanished. I’m quite meticulous about keeping tidy so can only assume the fairies have been.
Garden wise I have put my garden seating to bed for the winter, a little late as the cushions felt a little damp, so I hope will be ok. I’ve swept the leaves from a patio and filled a bag for mulch. Last years been put on the garden. Does anyone know when I should give a feed to the bulbs I layered in a pot last year? They worked well then I just put the pot to one side. I was hoping maybe to get another year of them?
Lovely pics Farway love the colours
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

No sign of your snips I'm afraid.
Bulbs, I normally feed them in spring, blood fish & bone, that way the feed is available to build the bulb for the following year. The bulbs in your pots already have, or don't, the flower inside which it built up this spring / summer. If it failed then that stable door needs slamming, you'll know once spring arrives and take it from there

Spotted ivy in flower at the volunteer spot, it covers an old tree trunk and hopefully will feed any bees around

Yes, i have an ivy tree that's been blooming till recently and a few insects buzzing around it. Now the top needs trimming. The ground is too wet out there for the mo to hoik steps and tools all the way around the back.
Tool searching next step is to move all storage away from the walls of the garage to see if they've fallen down. I'm working up to some enthusiasm for it.
I used to feed bulbs after flowering. No reason not to put a little something on them when they show signs of growth. If I go back to my organic days, some chopped nettle and comfry leaves soaked in water free nitrogen and potash.
Of if you have some wood ash thats excellent for flowering. Brilliant for fruiting plants.
I used to collect it from the pubs open fire.

Ok, not sure where everyone is.
The north west wind didn't make up for the heatless sun. I was in clown like multiple layers.
I actually did some gardening today!
Mowed front and back, spread cheap compost on the borders, repotted a tree and threw a bunch of bulbs at a pot. Can't call it layering. It will be interesting.
