Hot sun with a very welcome breeze keeping it sensible for now. Been out watering the back pots already, especially my runners now I have flowers open on them.

Tomato tapping continues, no babes yet.

For anyone [Mrs D] growing Morries clematis, good news. I found another Lazarus one at the front yesterday. Planted last Spring to scramble up & over the manhole bush, and it promptly headed North and I assumed that was it. But yesterday I found two thin stems growing through the bush, no flowers yet. I've re routed them to more daylight & sun and next watering I'll give it a feed

Moral of the story is don't give up on Morries clematis, even if it's wearing a horned helmet

Job still do do is plant the last clematis in a pot, to scramble up my front steps handrail. I'm oiking out the Lessbeans from that pot, I'll try & do it this morning before the suns gets round to bake there.

The courgettes have settled now, some fell off, unrequited love, but others are really in pudding club 😁

And these are reliable geraniums, but unnamed, grown from seed.

Bluey: Gawd what I wouldn't give for a field of gold like those nasturtiums (nasturtia?) Dusty,

    And don't forget they're edimentals….the latest garden buzzword. 😉

Farway: Get some poppy seeds and bung them on the bare soil in memory

I second that. They'll keep coming back. 😊

Councils (and some other institutions) changed during Covid, having found life easier without the annoyance of dealing with the public. The world of low accountability widened. Even before then, thousands of children suffered at the hands of evil adults, and nothing was done. As recently as last week, one of those kids, now an adult, was told by ITV before live interview, "Don't mention the race or religion of the perpetrators." She did anyway. Good on her!

It's a different, obviously lower level, but good on Bluey for seeking accountability. 😇

Right, off the soapbox and back to the good news of Morries' clematis. Quite a few do have AGM status, so it's only the small size which might mean extra nurture initially….that's if they get the Danish trolley the right way round, and you can spot them! 🤣

It was blooming hot yesterday and I forgot to see where the sun set on the solstice. Doh! 😫 I did grab a quick shot from the front door when it was too late…

The forecast today is for even greater hotness so it'll be bikinis and sun cream for all the other oldies joining Mrs Dusty and me at the garden visited a couple of weeks ago! ….if they find it.😄Last year, we lost a few en route to a garden in the same area…..🙄

It's not gold going up, it's your fiat currency losing value.

A little warm but a pleasant northerly breeze passing down the side tunnel.

It's clouded over now so although 25c it's just warm and not blistering. The breeze has dropped.

Well done Bluey 😃 I second the poppy seeds. LITM too seeds everywhere.

Wort congratulations on getting the arch in. Who cares where,. It's easy to readjust the planting later to make it blend in if it bothers you.

Farway I'm sure I had one of those in my last garden. It was a good doer so it stayed.

Dusty that's a perfect mid summer photo. You can check the sun setting today.

Greenbee you've probably decided by now but you could always check for cloud cover on the satellite maps. And don't forget that opening back windows of a car cools it more quickly as you're driving.

No garden work going on because I'm just so tired all the time. But some watering to be done this evening in case the sun appears tomorrow.

The Miracle Grow certainly sends the plants into hyperdrive! Almost scarily so. The geraniums are enormous. So I'm thinking of mixing the Poundland stuff with the MG to eeek it out a bit and s o the plants don't outgrow themselves.

One thing that's come up trumps this year is the Morrisons Pinks. I gave them a jiggle in the spring and they seem to have appreciated it. The smell is gorgeous 😍

The upgrade to a red warning for half the country means I've cancelled the trip. If anyone else wants to go they are welcome to, but I'm not going (and I'm the driver). And if they want to reorganise, they can do that without me too - it wasn't on my list of how I want to spend my time anyway (which is probably why I was procrastinating about cancelling).

    Fur enough.

It's warm here, touch of a shower when I organised sitting outside, bit of a breeze. But driving you don't have the option of getting out of the sun.

They'd probably only be complaining anyway 😉
