Evening all 👋. It's quiet on here today - just reporting in with a -2lb for this week 🙂 it's just as well I weighed before going to dinner with my sister and nephews for her birthday 😁 I fear I will be spending the week paying for it
. It was nice to catch up with her eldest and OH

Morning All,
Well done on the losses and STSs and commiserations for any gains.
Brambling I hope you enjoyed the meal for your sister's birthday. Spending the week paying for it never seems so bad when it was enjoyable doing the damage.
I'm sneaking in quietly and hanging my head in shame. Not only have I been eating appallingly but I haven't even mustered up the courage to hop on the scales and see just how bad it is. I'm not sure why I'm struggling so much to pull it together, the fact that it's freezing and I just want comfort food and stodge definitely isn't helping, but I really need to try harder.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx6 -
Izadora, you and me both. I think I will have done well if I STS this winter. Added to the craving for warm comforting food, I have begun to wonder what on earth I am doing. I have spent my entire life hating my fat body and the last almost 70 years trying not to eat food that I love and feeling guilty most of the time. Now in my eighties, and obviously not having that many years left I am beginning to resent passing up on my lovely homemade bread, my crunchy roast potatoes and chocolate brownies that melt in the mouth.
HOWEVER, I am not some pathetic little old lady. I'm a pretty tough cookie who still wants to look reasonably good in clothes - we will not frighten ourselves by trying to picture me OUT of my clothes - so I will press on regardless. Poor old Regardless.
I have just acquired a soup maker so an experimental lunch is on the cards.

Izadora, monna, me too
I’ve been doing the right thing by my diet - and then sabotaging it/myself. Feeling down about losing Senior Doggy
, and the present situation here and abroad 😱. I deliberately let myself run out of chocolate, but broke into the Christmas shortbread instead. Dumb thing to do. Plus other equally dumb things, some involving a corkscrew. I’m just glad I kept some of my “fat clothes” underwear ....
I wish I had “words of wisdom” to offer, but I haven’t. All I can say is, don’t let’s beat ourselves up, be kind to ourselves, hold on, it will (must!) get better.Monna, best wishes for some super soups from your souper.
Brambling, definitely a good move to weigh before indulging. I hope you have a super time with your family.

No shame allow here ladies
we have a few strikes against us at the moment which if you're a comforter eater will drive us to food.
Monna how do you find the soup maker other than on the shelfI currently use a saucepan and a stick blender but have found myself looking at soup makers and wondering do i want or need another gadget?
I made soup lunchtime to use us bendy veg and to try and claw back from yesterday, pizza and lemon tart followed by indigestionIt's a very nice soup but i was working and throwing things in the pan whilst the laptop was thinking (and it has been a very slow thinker today, it's lucky it wasn't thrown out the window
) and I'm now trying to remember other than the veg what else I threw in it
Dinner will either be stir fried beef or pork depending on what appeals when I open the fridge in a minute once I power down the laptop, feed the cat and put the rubbish out
Have a good evening everyoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -

Is the loss/gain relative to the original or the most recent?
Either way, I've realised I'm not in the right frame of mind or situation to be trying to lose weight at the moment, so I'm going to duck out for now and rejoin when I can put some focus on it. It's been lovely to meet you all, hopefully I'll be back soonStatement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Oh, Thats a shame! Yep, sometimes life just gets on top of us and food must be consumed.
ive lost focus a bit but ill keep on plodding.
the losses and gains are relative to the last weight in.
Hope to see you back when you are ready.
just remember though, its not a competition and the people here have all been through highs and lows too so you're in good company! Its totally non judgemental.Norn Iron Club member 4735 -

TWICE I've written a long and witty post and TWICE I've clicked on OSMSE instead of 'post.' You'll have to take my word for it.
