Brambling just spotted your Anais Nin quote. Lovely quote. I feel my courage has shrunk in the last few weeks. But I'll be back.

Ditty unfortunately I find I'm the same as you at the moment

i managed to stifle my yawning enough to log your STS Monna 🙂

I've spent a wet and windy lockdown Saturday looking at recipes, none of which are low calorie 🙄 I'm contemplating for the first time ever making a Christmas cake, my mum despaired when I brought a M&S one and until her mid 80s would make me a small one (she did make a good one, maybe I should have found out her recipe 🤔) I'm sure the urge will pass, but I also looked up stollen recipes 🤫

Dinner tonight was lasagna, garlic bread and salad at my sisters (I'm in their support bubble) unfortunately it was followed by a slice of my nephews' chocolate cake, I've eaten too much  :(

Hi so this is me adding 4lb due to eating too much and not exercising enough, excuses are travels, lockdown, eating w boys = portion size. So there is only one way forwards - to keep plugging away at it.
Vegetables and running will be my weapon, the same as usual, but as it's a scrimpy month I end up eating a lot of carbs, so will have to keep a close eye on that.

  • Good evening everyone.

Sorry I haven’t been very active on here lately. Things have been a bit mis over the past few weeks, ending with an unexpected sudden bereavement (not COVID).

Consequently dieting has been up & down. Brambling, please would you put me down for STS x 2, +2lb, -1lb (I can’t remember how many weeks I’ve missed - please fill any blanks with STSs). Still plugging away at it, trying to avoid cake & bix & chox. Always hoping to get back on track.

    Have a good week, all.

  • I totally crashed and burned this week.  There was a morning tea last Wednesday for one of my colleagues who is leaving after 15 years in the job.  The food offerings were cheese and crackers, cake, home made bacon and egg pie, sausage rolls and other very fattening things…in my defence I had my cereal first and I ate a LOT of grapes.  Also had some cake at a weekend decolonisation workshop and woke up this morning to a 2kg gain!!!  It’s only 1 kg over my cap weight but still…

Hi Brambling thanks for offering, but my weight just snappe back to what was my weight for a long time, and I see how this will be a battle, and on the other hand then I feel I'm on it and I hope that is a food baby that will come off fairly quickly again, so I think I will just mosey on. I have run 9 m this weekend, started to limit my portion sizes and adding more vegetabels. Bring on the winter losses!

    Morning All,
Well done for losses and STSs and commiserations for gains.
    Blue Sorry for your loss

Brambling Setting up your spare room as an office is definitely worth it. I've found working much easier since I moved from the kitchen table and it has the added bonus of meaning I have to bother to walk downstairs if I want a biscuit, rather than the tin staring at me and tempting me all day.

I'm joining monnagran with a rather dull STS this week. I'm quite happy with that though as I really didn't eat very sensibly over the weekend. I think I just about got away with it because I went for a 9 mile walk on Saturday and deep cleaned the kitchen yesterday and keeping myself busy meant that I didn't really eat during the day. I was also very good and gave away the vast majority of the cake I made on Saturday, which had the added benefit of giving me driving practice as I dropped slices off to various friends.

I got a call from my dad yesterday to say that mum's back in hospital, having had another mini stroke, so I'm trying really hard not to fall into stress-eating everything in sight. We're hoping that they'll only keep her in for 24 hours' observation so fingers crossed for a positive update later.

Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx
