It is important because if the amount of claims were reduced the cases that appear on this forum are likely to be of a more complex nature and it will give the regulars more time to focus on them.
I have to say that I think that SRS has sunk to a new low. I did not think that he could sink lower than a S--kes Belly. The ticketing of the disabled army veteran made me so mad that I sent the link to the article my MP. She will hopefully forward that on to Robert Jenrick.

I am still shocked that the total number of people who have commented is probably only in double digits when there are millions of motorists in the country.
There was a public consultation on parking generally, back in 2015, and then the total number of responses received was 571: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/498636/response/1210195/attach/html/2/Response%20Document%20V9%20ISBN.gov.uk%20archive.pdf.html
It was this which led to the DCLG (as it then was) taking the matter forward, and when an edict came down from No.10 under Theresa May, they had to find a way to get legislation into the Parliamentary timetable, which was done in the form of Sir Greg Knight's private members' bill, which became law in 2019.
You can see by the numerous comments posted in response to newspaper articles about parking, that the vast majority of the motoring population have absolutely no clue how the scam works, and that is confirmed by some of the inane questions that get posted on here by newbies. Most people won't know or care about the current consultations, and it's only when they get a ticket themselves, and perhaps come to a forum like this, that their eyes are opened and they might take the trouble to respond.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.6 -
Total stands at 697 today which at 10 comments per person is still only fewer than 70 people! I tried to add a note to every post that @Coupon-mad had made that exhorts posters to do the consultation to ask them to come back and tell us they've done it but I got spam blocked!

If you agree with some of the comments cut and paste. You have to paste into a box first. I have certain issues I feel very strongly about and others I am not so familiar with such as the Protection of Freedom's Act and the technicalities of ANPR. I have cribbed on ANPR. I will have to revisit POFA.

What's the closing dates for these comments? (I'm aware that there are two aspects with separate feedbacks ... the CoP and the Enforcement Framework).2

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Look at the likes of the Facebook groups which are run by various people. One has huge numbers but only a few constantly comment. The reason? is they get ticket, they then deal with it with group help and no longer do anything in the group because their ticket has been dealt with. So this consultation has probably posted on those groups but most people wont notice, or will skim read and move on. It doesn't impact on them any more
So its the same with this, unless they have a current problem, or involved in the parking industry then they are just not bothered
Can you blame people for that?, no because thats just the way things work. Most people are not that interested and its we live in an "i'm alright jack" world6 -
The thing is though this is one issue where we can make a difference. I am not so sure that people up a tree on the HS2 development site are going to change things however strong their principles.
I was told years ago by a boss (that I had a lot of respect for) to put my my energies into things that I could change or make an impact on. I try to live by this as much as I can.

I have completed this but it was a struggle. The general public will not understand and will switch off.
It's been designed to confuse whereas a simple questionnaire with multiple pages would suffice.
I doubt even the muppet club run by Boris, could complete it.
