Thanks Culpepper - I think I can live with that! The cabbage was pretty yellow anyway, and the beans...well, I'll be covering them in gravy when they're cooked!

    :hello: hiya

last night went well - I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen including both floors
*looks really chuffed with herself, then wrinkles nose up when she remembers how long it was since the last time they were cleaned and not just swept!*

I also managed to find homes for lots of bit's that got left lying around the house as well as putting the laundry out to dry and the bedding in before dashing to work this morning.

Tonight I am cooking up some things for the freezer and getting the Be-Ro book out. Then some relaxing me time with a good book and a bath. mmmmmmmmm

glad to hear there have been no more trips to the A&E today :rotfl:

    afternoon all :)

No O/S of any kind at all round here yet, am on a flexi shift so slept in until 10 (I've not been sleeping very well lately and I feel MUCH better for it) and have been at work ever since.

Rhubarb crumble making night tonight and there's a wash waiting in the machine to go on and be hung over the clothes horse in my spare room.

Then I have to dig out the airbed for my weekend visitors. I know I saw a box labelled for it when I moved a couple of months ago, but I've NOT A CLUE where it was unpacked to! Fun and games promise to ensue :D

I hope to find it prior to BB tonight so I can partially inflate it while I'm watching...
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...

Oooh hornetgirl - have you used that Supercuts before? If you're talking about the one in the Harlequin - I've been there, albeit a few years ago and it took me an age to grow out the mess she made. I went to a 'proper' hairdressers and they told me that lots of the supercuts and similar type hairdressers don't have trained hairdressers - just people who cut hair. There's no legal requirement to be trained in this country - even I could set up. (saw that on watchdog type prog. some time ago)

Glad I didn't read this before I went TM, as I would have been in a right quandry. Luckily it turned out fine though.
Very scary that people don't have to be trained though - in fact quite

I finally realise why - in an episode of Friends_- when teased about his new haircut , Ross said "Damn Supercuts!"

I always thought that it was an American thing?

Mine turned out OK apple_mint. My suggestions would be either add a bit more icing sugar, a bit less milk or maybe cook it for a bit longer til it goes a bit thicker. These are only guesses though.............

Lucie ... I added extra icing sugar and spread the topping on the buns. Everyone says there were great :D Took a batch to work where they rapidly disappeared. Given that most people don't realise I cook from scratch now it was a bit of a surprise for them ;)

Thanks Lucie .... lovely recipe :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

I had quite an OS afternoon. Picked rhubarb & made rhubarb crumble, salad for dinner with remains of yesterdays gammon.
Dug out breadmaker & made some bread, although it is not a very good bread machine (hinari) given to me by MIL cos she didn't like it. However, it will have to do. I more often use it for making pizza bases, Belgian buns & rolls. The tin is very thin & the bread always has a very hard crust.
We had quite a thunderstorm this afternoon, so I hope it hasn't washed out all the lettuce seeds I planted yesterday!

Just baked a cake and 2 dozen buns for ds to take to school fayre tomorrow. Really pleased with the cake as I have not used the oven for baking much and was unsure as to the temp adj. with it being a fan oven. Make butter cream out of one cook book and binned it. Went back to the old faithfull "The Creda House Craft Manual". It came with my nannans first cooker printed in 1958!

This morning first thing I walked to the hospital to get a blood test done, the doctor told me to have one to hopefully shed some light on what's been causing the awful stomach pains I've been having lately. Then I went to work and at lunchtime walked to Tesco and boughts some reduced chicked breasts which I cooked for dinner with melted cheese and bacon bits on top with rocket salad.

Now I need to shower and prepare for my slimming class tomorrow after work, I know I have 2 new members joining tomorrow hooray :)

Have a good evening all of you.

    Sarah.

Hello Good Evening and Welcome :j I have spent most of today lying on the bed with a cold water bottle sewing and watching TV (bless Hallmark...). However, my foot is now getting much better - I don't think I did myself any favours going into work yesterday as when I tried to get out of bed this morning I couldn't stand on the blessed thing! Anyway, I can actually move my toes!!! It's a miracle :D I've put the jelly in to melt before I add the evap milk to make a nice strawberry mousse for me and, er that's it. Not very productive day today but I'M NOT WELL!!!!! Did bake a quiche last night tho so that did very well so I have something to take to work for lunch tomorrow (OH doesn't really like quiche unless it's loaded with cheese..... ) Got my first 2 christmas presents off e-bay today as well......... :j
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
