    Hi everybody!

Night night to all, just thought I would pop by, been doing the ironing. Only spent 40p today... on an evening standard newspaper.... it came with

    bottle of listerene mouthwash
some new polo mint ball thingys
sample of soothing balm by those norwegian peeps, can't remember the name,
    sample of toothpaste
    sample of sun lotion.

Well worth the money! Except that I passed a guy in the ticket hall, sorry was at Waterloo station, coming out of the tube who was giving them out with said paper and went onto the concourse thinking i should have investigated, none of the sellers on the concourse had any of the bags so I had to go all the way back round and get a later train! :rotfl:

Money saving, not time saving! At least I have done the ironing!

bethscott, I don't know how many sons you have but I have three brothers (all bonkers) and they all turned ok (ish) despite all the damage they have tried to do to themselves over the years :D

Oh and I have a real thing at the mo for fresh bread (bought from bakers... don't believe in bread machines... I know you are going to crucify me tomorrow!.. although when I have had my op the doughnuts could tempt me!!!) with a scrape of mayo on one slice and then loads of Tuna and sweetcorn! LOve it!!!!! I mean seriously, I had it for lunch today and as a snack when I got in! :D

Night NIght everyone, take care and keep baking thats my favourite part!
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!

    Good morning Queenie

Got up early today but don't intend to go into work until 9am. I did a twelve hour day yesterday so I'm trying to reclaim some hours back today.

Have made some of Lucie's Eureka Cake buns - far too many for us so I'll take some into work. The topping doesn't seem to want to set though.

Tonight I'm going to attempt to make Rhubarb wine (was given 4lb of Rhubarb yesterday) ... could be interesting as I'm an absolute beginner at wine making (I trawled the web and found a recipe).
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Mine turned out OK apple_mint. My suggestions would be either add a bit more icing sugar, a bit less milk or maybe cook it for a bit longer til it goes a bit thicker. These are only guesses though.............

Had quite a productive evening last night - mopped the kitchen floor, cleaned my leather footstool & tidied up the front bedroom.
Tonight's tea is already waiting in the fridge, so that's one less job for today.

Anyone got any good old style ideas for keeping cats off my garden? They are treating the gravel as one big communal litter tray. Best suggestion so far is chilli powder.

    Morning.

Sitting in my jimsjams waiting for a parcel to be delivered. God knows what it is but they tried to deliver it as I was driving off to A&E yesterday and if I get into the shower now - they WILL knock at the door!

Was up till nearly midnight ironing. Watched an old Steve Martin video and listened to the rain. No thunder for us though :) Actually did some garening last night too. Usually I leave that for Mr TM, but as he's away, I thought I'd get stuck in. No faffing and fiddling around like he does. Used the opportunity to do some serious reshaping :) I know it's the wrong time of year, but Iwas in the mood, the boys were 'helping' and Mr TM can't do anything about it :D It's amazing how much garden I've rediscovered by not letting it be so 'natural' (Mr TM speak for he can't be bothered)

Need to do some major bathroom cleaning as well as kitchen. Fridge needs a clean so I'll sort out what I have in there that can be cobbled together for a 'use-up' night. DS1's friend is coming for tea and he doesn't eat gravy type dishes, so my steak casserole will wait till tomorrow. Sausages and mash I reckon.

I must measure all my windows that need new curtains. I'm still thinking of getting my bedroom ones made for me, due to their size, but I'll get my sewing machine out of the attic one day soon and will practise on some smaller less seen ones.

Oh, and must ring up the local pychiatric hospital - not for me you understand (MATH may disagree :)) but they have sewing rooms there still and used to make up curtains at very reasonable rates. My mum had some lovely ones done years back. It might be worth bearing in mind for those of you who can't sew or need really large curtains, cos these places like to keep their sewing rooms working.

Cats - large water pistol/blaster filled with really cold water? Add salt to the water - makes it really cold when it's been in the fridge :D (That's of course if the salt won't harm little moggy, if you're a cat lover)

    Good morning Queenie.
Today is market day here so friends come in from the country to go to the market then they congregate in our house for coffee, starting about noon so I have to do my weekly baking. I make scones, pancakes and shortbread. [To think I used to bake EVERY day!!!!!]
Yesterday I had rasberries left over from making cranachan so I made some jam. It will be lovely in the scones.
My visitors will go off about 3pm so I'll just relax after that and get on to my laptop.
