I want those smilies too Lucylou!! Where did you find them?
Ive been on a bit of a go slow this morning too, I ended up drinking many many cups of tea whilst watching Third Watch and Without a Trace. I think daytime TV is getting better than it is in the evening. I checked my little garlic bulb planting experiment, yesterday - nothing, today, a shoot about a centimeter tall - woohoo! :j
Plans for today include writing another letter to my bank who have again failed to do as told - this time its going to my branch manager, and I expect a grovelling apology. The idiocy of the people who are supposed to be in charge of money  .....
Yesterday ended up going to Tesco instead of Lidl - I was sure i'd get lost on the way as ive never been there before, so settled for an easy option. Got plenty of mini chicken fillets though, on two for a fiver, and 4 packs of bacon on offer for about 3quid. I shouldnt have gone hungry though, ended up buying a few packs of jammy dodgers, which ive been eating all morning, but did pick up a 2lb loaf tin so I can experiment with bread making!
Im also going for a wander round town, the agencies are on a go slow too - I need to work immediately so going to have do some leg work today. More laundry, and plenty of cleaning again too - I still have to do a load of packing ready for when we move, and start looking for a place to move to would help aswell.
Oh well, better get busy...
Have a lovely day all....

Hi everyone.
Just had a lovely HM soup for lunch - made with juice from yesterday's slow cooker beef, onions, potatoes and green beans that all needed using up. Enough for two freezer portions as well.
Just in the last few minutes heard a very OS sound which took me back to my childhood and which I haven't heard in a long time. A bell being rung in the street - yes it was a rag and bone man. He had a truck rather than a horse and cart, but it still took me back.
Also had a bit of good luck at the library yesterday. I'm thinking of changing my 10 year old car for something a bit newer and had planned on buying a What Car type mag to do some research. There in the library magazine swap box was a June 2005 edition. I put two mags in and was delighted to take this out in exchange.
Now off into town as I'm in desperate need of a haircut. I'll just get a dry trim in Supercuts, it's the cheapest option I know of.0 -
Did the usual morning bread, load of laundry on the line waiting to be brought in,dug for 1/2 an hour in my mud and managed to get the hoover around(in the house
,not in the mud).We had egg sandwiches for lunch (boiled eggs mashed up with sunflower spread).Off to buy DD new undies (cant think of an OS way to get them as I refuse to buy 2nd hand undies). Then when we get back I'll start the dough off for chicken and pineapple pizza and get some more stuff packed for the holiday(puss will be pleased,he gets spoilt rotten by the neighbours when we are away).

Oooh hornetgirl - have you used that Supercuts before? If you're talking about the one in the Harlequin - I've been there, albeit a few years ago and it took me an age to grow out the mess she made. I went to a 'proper' hairdressers and they told me that lots of the supercuts and similar type hairdressers don't have trained hairdressers - just people who cut hair. There's no legal requirement to be trained in this country - even I could set up. (saw that on watchdog type prog. some time ago)
If you've been before and are happy with them, than that's OK, just be warned.:) Hope you get a nice cut anyway.
TM
PS I used to see that rag and bone man from time to time - never came near when I wanted to get rid of stuff though0 -
I had a productive evening. I defrosted the freezer as soon as I got home, and turfed out some soup that has been in there for about nine months. It wasn't very nice to start with - too much cabbage - and I tried to salvage a few portions, but it was really not worth it. I have promised myself all that time that I'd use it up, and I just HAVEN'T. I always find something else that I would prefer to eat. It wouldn't have worked as a base to something else either. In the end I decided the freezer space was more valuable than the soup.
Anyway, then I washed and sliced up some BOGOF runner beans. That was good. We have often got the fine beans for 98p for 200g. These were £1.49 for 250g, BOGOF, and they will do two of use for three meals, at 49p a meal. And I prefer them to fine beans.
Also chopped and froze a bag of cabbage for the next time I do my sausage and mash meal. My boyfriend has persuaded me not to blance veg before freezing - any experiences? He doesn't and says it's fine...I'm a little more cautious!
Then I made a gorgeous white loaf, cooked my tea and played around in Photoshop...0
