Ticklemouse - Just wanted to say congratulations on your wedding anniversary (even if your OH is not with you).A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0
-
Very productive afternoon as I laid the flooring in the kitchen. It took me 5 hours, a few "you little barstool!" muttered under my breath (DD was in the livingroom in earshot), a very sore eye where the corner of the of the vinyl fell and caught my eyebrow/lid (fortunately I managed to close my eye in time otherwise it would have been very different result), a stiff neck where I pulled a muscle reaching behind the washing machine to switch the water off and one very surprised OH when he got in from work
In fact he was so surprised that he cooked DD beans on toast for tea and once DD was in bed, he went out and got KFC as a treat :j
Since 8pm I've put another coat of undercoat on the bathroom shelves where I hadn't painted before, done aload of towels on a hot wash and folded them ready to put out in the morning (not putting them out now as some little "darlings" have found a tin of paint and are throwing it around in the alleyway so I'm not risking it!), put everything back in the kitchen, mopped the floor and watered my garden. Plus I sat down and watched most of "Most Haunted".
I'm off to bed now as I am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get the bathroom shelves finished and maybe make a start on the hanging rails in the masterbedroom as well as the rest of the washing before the rain arrives on Wednesday  I think someone has changed my batteries to Durcell instead of SP :rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
My OS day consisted of picking raspberries (the preparing them to freeze to have in winter), pulling, cooking an dfreezing the rhubarb again for crumbles in the cooler weather.
Spent another hour today trying to get more of our veg patch sorted. Slowly but surely it's coming on.
Sandwiches for tea (can't wait for our new breadmaker to be delivered!) and i tried a recipe i read on here - whole apples cored, minemeat added and brown sugar sprinkled on top all done in the slow cooker. served with a small drizzle of cream. Was very nice!0 -
I had an awful day. I intended to do loads of things, but as soon as I posted my last message on this forum, I started to feel very queasy indeed. Ended up lying on the bathroom floor for 40 minutes, then got into bed until 7pm. Ill probably be awake all night now, so I might go to tesco 24 hours, but its unlikely, as im still feeling a bit off. I thought about doing some baking, but I dont really feel like doing that either.
So I think I might just clean the bathroom and lounge, as intended, then maybe go back to bed, or read for a little while. For some reason, its got exceptionally hot here again, and that isnt helping matters at all.
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day - hopefully, ill get round to doing everything I intended to do today, just tomorrow instead.

Good Morning :hello:
(((((feel better soon hugs))))))) for those who are 'under the weather' lately.
Looks like rain here, so I'm really pleased all the bedding was dried yesterday, means I don't have to worry about laundry today.
The slow cooker is ready to rumble with a whole chicken, once it's cooked it will be chilled in the fridge overnight (slices better that way).
The bread machine is having a day off.
The lunchboxes are done (must remember to get the iced bottles out of the freezer!) and breakfast is cereal and orange juice.
Cat off to the vets today for his jab
List day today, need to menu plan and draw up the shopping list.
If I have time/energy later, I'm having a sit down with my sewing machine; got a lovely book from the library on making bags and there's some techniques in there I want to practise/play with.
Have a great day all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mornin Yall, I'm not usually on this early (so you know i want something);) Washing on the line. It's bright and sunny here (sorry Queenie - hope your weather improves):D
May do some gardening this morning and leave the ironing until Wimbledon's on! Also planning to make a raisin/mixed fruit loaf today but the page with that recipe has fallen out of me breadmaker manual. I also had a recipe years ago for brioche that you cooked in the machine as a loaf to tear 'n' share but I've lost that too:o
Off to do the school run now, catch ya later.
Please can any kind and wise Ol'Stylers that can help on the bread recipes this morning. Luv MATHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Morning... weather looks miserable here too!
Thinking about creating a new thread... thought I might test the water here first, anybody know any good remedies for eczema? I feel like I am drying out like a raisin!
Also it is quite bad on my face at the mo so any ideas would be really appreciated.
I have always had eczema but at the moment I am going through a really bad "phase" and the Docs really aren't interested. Am trying to figure out a cause for it but I am on a restricted diet anyway because of gallstones so already not doing dairy or red meat or coffee or tea... cheating a little bit with choccy now and then, but am going to knock that on the head for a bit and see if that has any effects... The only other thing is I have been eating more rasins.... so not eating them either from today
I don't know!
If anybody has some kind of natural super moisturising tips for increadibly sore face let me know! (only in patches and it calms down a little through the day so it isn't too obvious, just feels like paper...)
Not a lot of fun!
But I have ordered myself a pair of GHD hair straightners! so they will arrive in a day or two and I can't Wait!!!!!
Not exactly money saving but I did get £20 off by sending them my old irons! :T
See you later. Have a great day everyone!
And Queenie, you must be nuts getting up so early, if I had my way I would still be out for the count in bed!oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0 -

.... FAO - LearningToSave
Upstairs:- Make beds
- Check waste bins (empty if necessary)
- Pick up any "lay-abouts", put in basket on landing.
- Wipe around bathroom.
- Check bins
- Any "lay-abouts" put in stair basket
- Tidy newspapers/books
- Plump cushions
- Water/deadhead houseplants as necessary
- Check/empty bin
- Wipe all horizontals and hob
Obviously I incorporate other things but I work on the theory that if I can just get those bits done then I can open my front door to anything/one LOL
The "lay-abouts" baskets work two ways: if I'm going upstairs, I take something from the basket to put away and vice versa. But, most of the "lay-abouts" belong to the boys, so they have the responsibility of reclaiming their bits and bobs. If it's not been moved/put away after one week - it hits the bin!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
