Catznine: I'm going to really depress you now - I've already started buying my Christmas presents!!! sorry
I did this last year when OH was working abroad as we didn't know how long his contract was gong to last etc so it meant that at Christmas it was virtually stress-free . So we decided that I would start around now getting the odd one every few weeks - plus it means that you don't have to lay all the money out at once!
Pink Fairy: Do you mind me asking how successful e-bay is? I buy a lot on there (christmas presents :rotfl: ) and have a load of stuff I really need to sell but I'm just a bit lazyIs it a load of hassle?
right back to work for me... actually I have got some typing to do for the partner of the consultant I do the private work for and as I have nothing else to do at work and am here all day .................But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Hi Rage
I find Ebay really easy now as I have sold over 700 things on it. The bit I don't really like is the photo taking
I try to be really organised with it and once something is sold I post it as soon as they have paid. It's nice to get some money back (even if not much) for things that you have purchased.
The only trouble is that the kids think that I'm trying to sell their stuff before the've finished with it

Not too much chance to be OS today as am at work all day & then out to family for dinner this evening (at least I don't have to cook:D ) but en-route I am planning on price-comparing a Petsmart or whatever they are called now to see if they are any cheaper then Tesco & the cash & carry for dog food.
Had an OS sunday, have been looking for a futon for the nursery & the Ikea one was the perfect size but I thought a bit expensive for what it was, ebay was proving a total loss but found a second hand one in the local paper for £20, slight usage marks but instead of buying a new cover for it have found that a double duvet cover fits it perfectly:D As we bought a new much bigger bed in Janaury my double bed linen was slowly being turned into cot & crib linen by my sewing-handy mum, but have rescued one quilt cover for the futon & it looks fab:cool: .
Oh, and I think the nesting urge has really kicked in, otherwise it's totally inexplicable that I should NEED to scrub out & organize my kitchen cupboards & defrost the freezer:eek:
Don't want to depress people even further but I'm about 1/2 way through my Xmas shopping, the rest to be taken care of nearer the time using loyalty points & Rpoints money, also have almost all birthday pressies in stock for the rest of the year & even hubbys & my mums wrapped up in case Spud arrives early:rotfl:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
:hello: Good Morning Old Stylers!
LOL @ Rage! :T Congrats on being the "first"
Well, I've been quite busy this morning, aside from my 20 min whip round, I've turned all the mattresses, bedding on the line, cleaned the walls in the hallway/landing and taken d11yo to school for rehearsals (it's officiallly a day off school but the actors need the practise ... need to collect him again around 1ish.
Having a quickie on MSE then I need to get to the farm shop for fresh veggies.
Have a wonderful day all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lillibet: I think you're being very wise - you'll have quite enough to do very very soon!!
Queenie: Where do you get your energy from??yesterday we planted a load of window boxes up and then OH had to sit down and watch The Sweeney as he was "shattered"...... try being a girlie I thought.... :rotfl:
On saturday we did our monthly shop (T-rolls, the freezer, that sort of thing). It came to just over £ 50. I went over the £100 last month by about £20 so I thought that this month I could set it at £150 to try and alleviate this. So that gives me nearly £100 and a full freezer. We should only need to buy the fresh stuff (bread, milk, veggies, fruit) and anything we drastically need and live off the cupboards for the rest of the time. :j I'm getting the hang of this MS OS lark.....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Well ,here I am stuck in the black hole gazing at the sunshine outside through the ONE open blind. Grrrrrrr.
Anyway my old style by proxy today is : the washing machine is on as we speak, we use eco-balls, I don't know if anyone else has tried these but they actually work very well. The wash cycle is cut to about 30 mins.
Plants have been watered, beans coming along nicely!
Boot is full of cans and bottles to drop off at recycling bins.
In my food bag today is my first attempt at baking! Cheese and onion pie! :T Quite proud of myself, just have to try it without help now. Gulp.0 -

eyeopener: I'm sure you'll be able to make the pie on your own.
My OH actually cooked dinner for me last night - admittedly the kitchen looked like a war zone when he'd finished........... i just ran in this morning, made my toast and got the budgie food sorted and then left :rotfl: Fighting the urge to put something in sink was a struggle but I managed it! :rotfl:

WTG eyeopener :T :T :T You do realise that your cheese n onion pie is going to taste soooooo much nicer than any other - simply *because* you made it? Well done, so you should feel proud of yourself ... there's a soppy part of me that also feels very proud of you on your behave
BTW: I know your work environment is bleak and depressing, but if you start the day with a mental switch ... ie: imagine you're on secret mission or somesuch (yes, I know it sounds daft, but give it a go) you'll find the day goes past faster, you'll have periodic little chuckles to yourself because only *you* know of your fantasy survival technique and you might even survive the day on a happier note
Rage - actually, that wasn't "energy" as such(please dispell any mental ideal of Queenie singing "Whistle while you work ... " ... it was good old fashioned channelling of negative energy into something productive other than resorting to sucking out dh's eyeballs for being such a numpty!! (My mother used to bake bread when she had those 'moments' but loading a bread machine doesn't have quite the same effect
)
