Queenie wrote::hello: Good Morning!!
bailey - hope you've had a better night's sleep and not noisy neighbourhood parties
LearningToSave - did you put BB on record so you didn't have to stay up half the night (again!)
Moggins - :j Fingers X'd for you
Murtle - Wow! Hope all the sewing and DIY hasn't exhausted you! :eek: Have you tried using a bicarbonate of soda/bleach (mixed into a paste) on the outside of your fridge? Do rinse it off well, but it may bring it back to somewhere near it's normal colour. Have fun cooking for OH when he comes home today
tm - how did the moussake go? Success? Don't strain yourself with those sit-ups!
jw1096 - :T Pleased you got your rolling pin! Have lots of fun using it(It will double as a pestle and mortar if you have a bowl and use the end of the rolling pin to bash the contents
)
dorry - WTG bread, crumble, butterfly cakes and hm lemonade! Great work! :T
Mumstheword - the white vinegar is the *right* vinegar"Distilled White Vinegar" is the one we all use. Grab that bottle next time you're in Sommerfields.
culpepper - Woohooo - have fun with your new camera!! :j Your OH is a real treasure for surprising you
powie69 - Hope you get the results you desire this morning ((hugs)) If not, consider yourself a "trend setter" - *real* beauty isn't in a bottle, it's all in the inner confidence. Walk around like you *meant* it to look like that.
Yesterday was mainly an Admin day - I'm sure my shredder is almost burnt out after I put it through it's pacesBut I did put down some carpet in the Utility Room - off cuts that I'd stored in the loft from 2yrs ago. Ok, it's not wall to wall, but it does the job LOL.
DS (11yo) made pizza for supper yesterday, dough made in bread machine, and it was really yummy! His face was a picture of pride when he brought it to the table - d9yo made the coleslaw and also the jelly for dessert - so all in all, they are really beginning to build up their culinary expertiseLOL
My soap is almost dried out enough to cut into small blocks and the tags are all made
Today I'm baking - it's cooler and I will enjoy it LOL - then relaxing!!!!! All the laundry is up to date and I refuse to *clean* as such on a Sunday
Wishing you all a good day!!
Queenie!

A good productive day today. Made some cauliflower, broccoli & blue cheese soup today. OH doeasn't like cheese so ate some, put rest in freezer.
Finally had some success on Friday with youghurt making. It turns out I was heating the milk up to too high a temperature and thereby killing my yoghurt culture. It was a bit thin though so decided to strain it through a (clean) tea towel. A bit messy but well worth it. Had lovely thick creamy yoghurt. Mixed this up with some stewed goosberries kindly donated by a work colleague and now have a tub of goosberry fool in the fridge. OH doesn't like natural yoghurt or goosberries either!
I also ventured out to a local market garden this morning to see if they had any tomato plants. I was busy with a Uni course earlier in the year and didn't get a chance to plant seeds but still want to grow my own stuff. Anyway, managed to get two 'tumbler' tomato plants for containers and three 'outdoor girl' tomato plants (I don't have a greenhouse - yet) which I have planted in a grow-bag. Guess what? OH doesn't like tomatoes either. :rotfl:

Well done! if your hair is feeling a little dry (mine was terrible after my first accident) - use olive oil or conditioner all over your hair, then wrap in cling film. I put a hat on over the top too to stop it slipping off in the night, and the next morning, my hair looked and felt a lot better than it did just after the dying session!

:j I've finally managed to be the first - yipee!!!! :j
Must tell you about how oprganised I have got OH. I have already got his Mum's birthday present (courtesy of e-bay) and a card - her birthday is the end of July. Well, OH's brother is "designer blinded" (as I call it) and we went into Debenhams on Saturday and they have loads of sale racks. OH had a voucher to spend so I put some money to (£10) and he got two lovely shirts (john rocha and parkes - whoever) and then I said "oh let's see if they've got anything for Peter". instead of muttering like he normally does he looked :eek: So, brother has a Jasper Conran shirt for £25 instead of £50....... being a designer snob i think he'll be happy........then we went to the german market and the beer tent - oh dear..............
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Well done Rage for being so organised on the birthday front! This is something I have yet to sort out, in fact I am now inspired to have a go today and sort out a birthday box with cards ready and some pressies put by.
Well I was up very early today as I forgot to take medication last night that helps me sleep! As a result washing is about to be pegged out and the cooker and kitchen is now clean and ready for me to go make some yogurt and some ice cream. I made some Welsh cakes yesterday from the BeRo recipe book and there are only 4 left :eek: there are only 2 of us at home at the moment! Guess they were a success then. Going to make a soup in the slow cooker today and set the breadmaker going in a moment and then the ironing awaits - will watch my freebie dvd "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" that I got with last weeks paper while I iron.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
Got up early. Done 2 loads of washing, now on line drying. Took mince out for tonights pasta. Put out all recycling from the weekend. Wrapped 4 parcels from Ebay sales. Going to supermarket after work later with list and coupons. Trying to stick to grocery budget and have £48.75 left for the next two weeks.
I know this is more money saving than old style but I love this thread. Pre this forum today would of been take away tonight and a £175 shopping bill for the next two weeks
Have a good day :wave:0
