They probably have twigged to be fair! Although my Uni is notoriously long in handing out results (official results were yesterday - I got the official notification in the post this morning - they pre-warned me I had failed by email - how nice of them!) but hey, im 25, ny parents cant exactly ground me anymore can they!
To be fair, im not scared about telling my dad, he is really easy going and as long as im happy, he is happy, its my mum thats a little bit more highly strung, and probably wont take the news so well, especially since my cousin managed to get a first last year in criminology, and had just had a baby too.
Im pretty sure they will let me re-take over the summer, I cant see them making me re-do the year, or telling me I dont have any more chances! Ive had to submit a letter, which Im hoping will 'uncap' the marks from a simple 40% when I re-take, and then ill still get a 2:2 - Im pretty sure that the difference between a 3rd and a 2:2 hinges on this unit.
Good idea about hospital work Rage - im onto that one already!! ive applied for temp bank staff, a couple of permenant admin type positions, and two higher grade jobs that im sure id be really good at and have prior experience in, so here's hoping that springs something up. Im going to Badger my agencies next week too - Im determined I will have work no later than Wednesday! As soon as I move house (end of July - and cant wait) im going to get the study area set up again, and start hardcore revising for the unit, in the hope that I will be uncapped and will get an eventual 2:2.
I just have to kick the boyf into action though - he has become really lazy recently, he wants me to do everything for him, and he is beginning to get on my nerves quite frankly - I think its time he grew up and got off his backside - because I have enough on my plate right now!
Enough of venting - will go back to cup of tea...
And thank you all for your replies, you have all been so nice and supportive since I found out my results, and I just want you all to know how much I appreciate the kind words you have posted.

I started with good intentions (now then, I may have said that before....!!lol). So I flicked through the recipes on the recipe thread, and thought I'd get some ingredients in for some home baking. It cost me a bloomin fortune!!! lol!! DH kept commenting on each price. 'Yes' said I, 'but if I carry on baking, it will work out cheap' Ooops, hope the stuff doesn't go the same way as in the past...in the bin when it's a year out of date!! tee hee!!
Just seen white vinegar in somerfields too, but didn't buy it coz I wasn't conviced it was right. Knowing me, there'll be diff types of white V, and I'll walk round stinking of fish n chip paper!!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me0 -
Afternoon all
I've been down to the farmer's market and picked up some lovely meat and veggies (and rhubarb. I've been "ordered" to make more crumble). My plan for this afternoon was to get all the housework done and then cook/bake at bit before the friend that's staying with me arrives (in half an hour  ) but I had a couple of surprise visitors who put paid to most of that
.
I've swept the hard floors anyway and should have time to run a vacuum round (if I can drag myself away from here).
Not the best O/S MSE night last night as I received my (not unexpected) "in scope" letter for redundancy and I needed a chinese. I've decided it's the kick I need to get a job I enjoy better as I'm just coasting in the one I'm currently doing and I've worked out that with the (bare minimum) package that's on offer and a small inheritance I just recieved I can live for about 8months in about the same level of comfort I have now without any other money which shouldn't happen anyway - I'll be entitled to some JSE and I'll be able to get SOME kind of job in my (IT) field. Bit of a Gut punch anyway but using all the MSE tips I'll be able to streeeeetch my money a long way and at least if I'm unemployed for a bit I'll have time to implement all the total OS hints and tips
Right. Must remove meself from the computer (possibly with a crow bar)
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
woohoo - got me rolling pin! I also got a ravioli cutter thingy, and a little shaker post for flour, sugar etc etc. And when I went past the supermarket, I bought a million eggs, plain flour, saved about 80p on bottled water offers, and then a big bag of bread flour and yeast sachets caught my eye..... So I bought them! I dont have a breadmaker, so im going to hazard an electric oven loaf, after I have found a recipe of course.... Wish me luck!

I have had an interesting day. First of all my hair was a dark brown colour (my natural colour is light brown / blonde). I was attempting to go mid blonde, by putting a pre lightener on my head first. 3 attempts later and my hair has ended up looking like my mum's dog (tan and blonde) My mum has been trying to rectify it for me, but no joy so far. Will resume torture in the morning.
Other than that I've had three trips to Morrisons complete with red baseball cap (which my dad said made me look like a McDonalds employee!) to try and find suitable instruments of torture for my head. To top it all I have also been told I have a passing resemblence to that girl off Gimme Gimme! Never mind, there is always OH offer of a number 2 all over (Sinead O'Connor look out)A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Saturday is busy busy work day for me. Working from 8.30 am to 5pm, and on feet all day, no lunch break and definitely no sitting down. Got in from work and put feet up to watch Wimbledon, ended up watching Andy Murray for about 2 1/2 hours, but I think I deserve a rest.
OH cooked tea, then I've cooked some chicken and boiled some eggs and made pastry to make ham, chicken and egg pie tomorrow (using ham that I boiled on Friday). That's all folks!0 -
I haven't had much of an O/S day today, but did trawl round the charity shops in town this morning, and managed to get a brand new pair of M&S shoes for £2.99, which pleased me muchly.0

Hi
Am new to the OS way of doing things but am learning slowly!
Finally planted some tomato plants in the greenhouse. Not really OS but investing for later on in the summer. Whilst at the garden centre i went mad and splashed out on a few herbs (parsley, dill) to plant in a little planter near the mint i've got.
Got home and picked loads of mint and then made some homemade mint sauce to keep for use over the winter months.
Now trying to think of any ways to preserve/keep the rosemary i've got. Any suggestions?0
