Hi Aril, your bath salts have reminded me that I made some for pressies last year using rock salt, epsom salts, essential oil & a few drops of food colouring, I should make myself some post-birth ones with tea tree oil as this & the salt will be most welcome I imagine! Thanks for the prompt! They are so easy to make too:D
Thanks for the Soap recipe Queenie, sounds to easy to be true but I will try & have a go when my maternity leave starts (only one more week at work:j ) as I could store it for Xmas/borthday pressies:D.
Both OS & not to taxing for those of us who are follwing the this summers latest swallowed-an-over-inflated-beachball-trend:rolleyes:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Thanks Queenie! Is there any service out there providing spare mum's? Mum was also going to get me a birthday present when she got here ( my choice, birthday was in early May) so perhaps I could use that to my advantage! Though I don't want to be mean or anything, just frustrated!
Going to have a bash at the soap though, that sounds cool... the soap slivers, is that just any old bits of soap?
Oh and Greenlogo, just out of curiosity, where is the farmers market you go to? I am off to one tomorrow morning too, there is even a guy there who sells Buffalo meat, milk and cheeses!oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0 -

hiya everyone
not done too wel towards the end of this week, but you have me back on the inspirational track - thanks
When I get home from work I plan to do a quick wipe round the house with vinegar solution, a quick run round with the hoover and I suppose I had better do the breafast dishes as well. While I am at it, now I think about it, think I'll change the sheets too. Phew.......feel exhausted thinking about it!!!! :rotfl:
All that will be done to loud elton john music. I'm off to see him tomorrow night - very exciting
Then I am going to treat myself to a bath, a dvd and a bottle of wine.
Tomorrow I plan to bake bake bake.....r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Yes it's a grate (pun intended) way to use up old soap ends - caution, if you use several differently fragrances soap ends, you may end up with a strange pong!! (We use all the same soap so it's not a problem in our house)
Alternatively, you could use a bar of your favourite soap, grate it down as per the recipe and continue - but if that has a fragrance of it's own, omit the EO's
I could do with a "Mum" - so if anyone knows of a service, please may I be near the front of the Q? It's been a loooooooong time since I had one

Oh, Elton John, how wonderful. Have a great time r.mac.
All those bath salts and soaps sound lovely but we don't have a bath because I can't get into one. MrW has just come home from work and is wondering if he could borrow a bath from our neighbour! I think not, she doesn't even like people going into her house because it makes dust. She never comes into our house either, she says she's scared of the dog but we think it's the dust that frightens her. I keep telling her that lifes too short to worry about a bit of muck.
I'm still having bother with the dog, the storm didn't come but it feels very oppressive and he's not happy. Thanks for the messages. We will have to take him to the vet. He has always been terrified of fireworks and we have used those plug in pheromone thingies to calm him but it doesn't seem to work on him anymore. He's just getting worse as he gets older but I hate having to resort to drugs. I shall get some Rescue Remedy tomorrow and try that.
We've just had an O.S Friday tea, look in the fridge and see what needs using up, tonight it was bacon, scrambled egg and tomatoes. I just have to clean the fridge out and make a shopping list for tomorrow and that's it for today.
Have a good weekend.0 -
Quite a good day today for me. St Alban's day today at school so half day to celebrate - saved half a day on child minding and came home and made bread! Good OS supper as well - egg and chips, lovely. Busy weekend ahead - school fete (hard not to spend too much at these - any tips gratefully received - if you buy every one a burger its £10 and then you have to buy the kids goes on games etc and because every body knows you (i teach at the school) they call you over to have a go at each stall.)
Looking forward to BigBrother- bye bye Derek!0
