I am so tired
but pleased with what I have achieved today. My better half had brought me 1kg of mushrooms so I located a recipe on the BBC website for Cream of Mushroom soup. All I needed from the shops was 2 large tubs of double cream and I was away. Have you ever seen 1Kg of Mushrooms? It's vast
I had to use a catering stock pot to saute all those mushrooms, onion, garlic etc. and when it was cooked (previously adding 2 pints of vegetable stock) I stirred in the 2 tubs of double cream. The worst bit was next, I had to ladle the whole lot, bit at a time into the food processor to mix. Took over 25 mins to do it all. Then I had trouble finding enough containers to store it all in. But it tastes absolutely delicious! and I have enough home made soup now in the freezer to last weeks
.
Spent from 1:15pm to 3:15pm cleaning the whole house. Scrubbing, polishing, etc. was exhausting but the whole house is now gleaming. So far, that's house cleaned, mushrooms turned into soup and next I have to get around to making some dinner. I am making Steak Wraps with Guacamole and Potato Wedges (a recipe from ITV's 'Too Many Cooks') in a short while and I am so looking forward to it. Think I'll sit here for a while though, my legs are aching, my arms are aching, hell....everything is aching..but I feel good as I have achieved so much :T0 -

I'm running late today and I'm quite behind! Yesterday ended up soooo busy - but that is a good thing - and I have another busy "out-and-about-in-and-out-day" today too!

Morning Queenie!
Busy day for you - I'm on leave this week ... but OH seems to have filled it up with jobs for me!
Today we are going out to do a trade of plants for winemaking kit ... lovely lady has offered the swap so I'm looking forward to a week of experimentation with demi-johns ... hoping to be able to sample the results in a few months.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning Peeps,
Last day of paternity leave today, so back to work tomorrow
However, many ideas for frugal lunches etc to put into place when back.
Realised the other day that I spent about £1.60 per day in the coffee machine
So I have now found a flask, hidden in the depths of our cupboards, and that will now accompany me.
Not much else to say, so have a good OS day all24 hours in a day. 24 beers in a case ... coincidence? :beer:0
