I'm afraid my day hasn't been very old style so far. All I've done is make DH's packed lunch this morning and have homemade soup from the freezer for my lunch. At least the soup was made from the last of last year's homegrown leeks. There's only one portion left now. Note to self - get leek seeds planted this weekend!

r.mac - I have seen quillows, aren't they GREAT!! Haven't made one though :( It's on my "To-Do-When-I've-completed-my-other-WHIPs" list :D:D:D Enjoy many happy snuggles in your quillow, your mum sounds like a real gem!!

Cullumpster - hehehe, I use the vinegar trick sometimes, but I'd used up the last of it on the bathroom spray refill. The lemon was salvaged from the bin (naughty dh!!! :naughty: ) But, no, don't apologise for mentioning it - I'm sure there are others reading that tip and are more than happy to know about it ... share - share - share!!! :D:D:D

Well, I am absolutely *glowing* with pride ....

.. before school this morning, the boys nabbed a carrier bag and were having an indepth conversation about something.
When they came home from school they asked if we could go to the new shopping centre which opened this week ...

... they had segregated their PS2 games which they'd completed/bored with - to them to "Game" and were given a trade in voucher for ... £40 + :j ... they used them to get 2 new games and as Game had an offer on "Buy one get 2nd half price" they are in absolute heaven with their wonderful deal!!! Methinks they are learning ;)

Even dh has passed yet another milestone ... he ate up all his Vegetable Curry and rice tonight, a first :j

My "embroidered" cushion covers are looking all neat and pretty - so I'm rather chuffed with myself too :o

All in all a good day :D:D

Have enjoyed reading this thread with interest. Had to get a last minute birthday gift today and managed to get two lynx shower gel / spray sets for 150 boots points. I also got 6 fathers day cards (can never be too early) from Booksale for 2 for £1.
I also washed down four plastic garden chairs which had been given to me instead of heading for the tip, and my son managed to give himself a bath at the same time! I also sorted out a load of old baby clothes for a friend, and have decided to do a bootsale with all my junk at home. So in all I've been very pleased with my day.:D

    :hello: Good morning! :hello:

Not quite sure how today will pan out yet.

Youngest has a birthday party to go to this afternoon, no need to buy a gift, I already have something in the gift cupboard.

I really should go to the farm shop and get some fresh veggies for the weekend. It's one of those mornings where I think *I* need motivating!! :rotfl:

Hope you all have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone

    Finally got a day off!!

Sorting cupboards this morning. Aiming to do a car boot in a couple of weeks.
Going to a wedding this afternoon in clothes I already had and present bought in that D sale three weeks ago.

Pre :money: this would have meant new outfit at least £100 and present £50
    Total cost this time £6.00.
    I'm learning!!

Queenie if only you new how positive you keep me dailyxx :T

I can't imagine Tesco's at 5.30am .. was it quiet? Did they have any reduced items?
