I have also been working on the basis that it is bill 12 (otherwise you would have to pay for 13 months line rental on a 12 month deal).

It's the 12th bill. They're all airtime bills.
  • Actually it won't be the 12th bill when people on the so-called "price-match" t&c come to claim. Whilst the ones being discussed NOW won;t be "price-match" t&c, in due course most WILL be and they may be reading this thread. Send the 12th bill and they'll have lots of problems now. It's very important to be clear about anything to do with contracts with cpw and its minions nowadays - as many taking things at face value or relying on what they USED to do have been finding out for quite some time. It always goes back to the basic groundrules - and most don;t follow them (i.e. understand YOUR t&c AT THE TIME YOU TAKE THE CONTRACT OUT etc.). As for the 13th bill - you shouldn't have to stay connected beyond 12 months to get one.
  • I called today and got through within 20 seconds, I was then on the phone for about 30minutes discussing about disconnecting and after many times of declining the offers they finally offered me a 12 month free contract with no cashback and they would automatically credit the £300 into my account within the next 28days before mt first bill. The guy on the phone was generally nice and advising me the best offers.
Just hope everything he said was correct as I see some others were offered the same offer.

I have a slight update on my own position. Despite rejecting the upgrade phone last Monday and getting a PAC code (finally) out of CPW I have received a letter from them today.

Letter is dated this Monday, almost a full week after they agreed I was cancelling the upgrade and is a welcome letter thanking me for agreeing to stay with them. It also states the terms and conditions of th eoffer I agreed to, which is actually NOT the offer that was agreed originally on the phone, so no surprise there then.

I am so glad I did cancel the upgrade as otherwise I would now be outside my 7 day cooling off period and would be stuck with a phone on a different set of conditions to that agreed on the phone.

I will probably risk my blood pressure again and call them tomorrow to see why they sent this letter.

They also "agreed" to cancel my upgrade yesterday. However, I will call them to check everyday from now until EVERY department of CPW give me the same answer that they did cancel the upgrade!

...and they will be sending you full written confirmation of all of this detail, won't they?

I did get my PAC code and will be sorting out porting the number across tomorrow, so all I have left to do is wait for the last bill from CPW and then cancel the direct debit.

It just seems a bit sneaky though to wait until the end of the cooling off period before confirming the deal in writing. I am sort of half expecting them to act surprised though if I phone and tell them I cancelled it all. Every day I phoned last week they just said they had no record of the cancellation or return of the new handset. It wasn't until I mentioned that Ofcom were 'interested' in my case did they finally give me my PAC.

i have an impression that the record information given by their billing department is more reliable than other department.

My phones were due to end on the last day of January or thereabouts.

Yesterday, as they were still working I phoned up e2save

They hadn't received the recorded letters, or put any form of note on their compute system.

The chap asked if I had prrof that I sent yet

Yep, my recorded delivery slips were available. I had to quote the refeence numbes and dates for each.

He then (as he said) had to complete a couple of forms and all should be cancelled within the next 72 hours or so and backdated to the proper date.

I've written to my bank, stating that the next bill will be the last

    Hopefully everything will be OK

NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE E2SAVE .... THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH HASSLE TRYING TO CANCEL.

KK21, don't forget that usually mobile numbers need to be ported out to deactivate them, they don't just stop.I'm sorry if that wasn't the problem here, but the thread has got a bit long and it is difficult to work out who has what problem!

I only got away from CPW by actually porting my number, otherwise they confirmed I would have just stayed on their 'emergency' ie high rate contract for ever. If you want to give up the numbers then just port them to a PAYG sim Tesco or something, but get them away from CPW ASAP.
