You can switch into an existing Club Lloyds- you don't need to open another. (and I thought with their t&cs that it was one per person?)

Why do you intend to close your Club lloyds?scoot65 said:
(I'm already a Lloyds customer with a couple of current accounts and have an existing club Lloyds acc. which I intend to close )
With this switch deal you can switch into an existing account....... get the money, and then close the account

I had assumed that Lloyds wouldn't allow a switch into an existing account .... as in why would they offer an incentive to switch into a account an existing customer already has.Katiehound said:

However, I'm more than happy to do so if Lloyds are allowing this
My other concern is that the Halifax account I'm thinking about switching is one which I've only just completed a switch into (completed on Monday 7th).0 -
They'd offer it to existing customers so they can steal business from other banks. Since the terms don't exclude switching into an existing account it's fair game - they'd have specified it if they didn't want it to happen.scoot65 said:

It's clearly written in the terms of the offer. Follow the link in the opening post to this thread.isingh1 said:Katiehound said:

Lloyds are trying to get people to switch accounts to them - if there's an existing account it's win-win. You don't have the bother of opening a new account, and neither do they. But they do get the business of your switched-in account.scoot65 said:

It's in the terms of the offer - which, as above, you can (and should!) read by following the link in the opening post of this thread.

In answer to both queries above- yes if you already have an existing Club Lloyds you can switch into that. I did it last night online.
Or you can switch into a different lloyds a/c and then upgrade
"The offer is available to customers switching an account held elsewhere to an existing qualifying account. You can also upgrade any other existing Lloyds Bank account to one of the qualifying accounts and complete your switch at the end of the application."
ps before switching make sure you have received your reward from previous switch!!

I have been with Lloyds for about 36 years and they seem happy to accommodate any reasonable request I make. Also we use the cinema tickets hence the reason for opening another account. Also I have read their terms and conditions and as you quite rightly point out you can only have one of Club accounts. I can only think I am a very highly favoured customer.Katiehound said:
