Lloyds Bank £100 switching offer ends 9 Nov 2020

The CL regular saver only requires a CL account to open, it doesn't actually need to be maintained to keep the saver - I downgraded my CL account during the last switch incentive while I had an active CL regular saver without any issues.colsten said:
Downgrading twice - “beforehand and after”, as you wrote.funkycredit said:
Why? Because there's a £3 fee isn't there. Isn't there? (I just presumed so apologies if incorrect)!colsten said:
Why downgrade at all? And why twice?funkycredit said:
No. Go for it. Just downgrade the account beforehand and after your paid the bonus money. Click into current account link then select change account type. Easy.kuepper said:kuepper said:As the £100 gets paid within 10 days is there anything to stop you then switching to RBS or am I missing something?
anybody know? Why twice what? You're too cryptic at times.... plain English please 😂
There might be a good reason why someone has an existing Club Lloyds hanging about. Some Club Lloyds Regular Savers haven’t matured yet. So downgrading, even just once, the account wouldn’t be the smartest move.2 -
What do the terms say?sazandy25 said:Need active direct debits?1 -
I have just been on to the switching team and they confirm yes we would be able to get the incentive by switching from the Halifax to a Lloyds Club account.colsten said:
If you switches from Halifax would not be eligible, the offer terms would say so.MABLE said:Can someone confirm we could switch an account from Halifax and still be ok to get the £100.00. We have never received any incentive from Lloyds Bank only Halifax.0 -
That's what the post you quoted says, too.MABLE said:

We have one single CLCA and one joint CLCA. To get £100 switching bonus x 2 what is the easiest method? To change the joint account to a sole account I would imagine it would need both of us attending a branch (not desirable). Would I be permitted to open a new sole CLCA online whilst already having a joint CLCA?

Glad to see the wisdom of crowds on the Forum supported my reading of the offer, and that you can switch into an existing account and get the bonus.
The article written by the "experts" on the main site says:-
"To get bonus: Request a switch to a new Club Lloyds account by 9 November 2020
Who's eligible for offer: Anyone switching to a new Club Lloyds account"
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/#lloyds
For a long time now, the information posted on the Forum by FMs is vastly better than the articles on the main site.4 -
Not in my experience! I currently have one joint CLCA and wanted to open a new single one. Online won't let you - neither on the website or the app, certainly not whilst you're logged in anyway. Club is simply not there in the additional accounts list. There is, in a small box on the page, the message that 'opening an additional club account requires a visit to branch'.where_are_we said:We have one single CLCA and one joint CLCA. On querying this on chat I was told I could ring to open a club account.
On ringing I was taken through their automated systems and told, by an automated system, that they 'can't take my call today' and was promptly hung up on.
On querying this in app I was told that yes, it is bizarre that you can't open a second club online, even if you're entitled to another, and yes, the phones are apt to hang up on you.
On asking could they get someone to ring me to save me wasting time talking to robots that hang up I was told no.
So, it's either branch or try, yet again, on the phone.
The robot on the phone advises that opening an account that way might take 30 minutes - if they don't hang up.
Thanks a bunch Lloyds!
I have instead, opened a classic account online - within seconds, not the 30 minutes estimated for the phone, and will, next week, ring to see if that can be upgraded to club, which I hope will not take 30 minutes.

I have four Club card accounts and I was able to open up another one online yesterday. We like the cinema tickets.Zanderman said:
