Just so I'm sure, as soon as I've got the £100 in my account ( in 10 days it says) there's nothing (ie no penalty of any sort)  to stop me switching straightaway to another bank?
There's no direct penalty, I did just that with co-op to halifax last month, which I've just switched to Lloyds and will switch that to RBS shortly after.
It will affect my credit report at one or more credit ref agencies in that it'll show that I opened and closed those accounts, it is then up to lenders how they view that. But that's not an issue for me.

Thanks for the info, I've just switched the new halifax account that I switched last month.
Switch should complete on 22nd, then I'll switch the lloyds account to RBS once the incentive is paid. And also try getting the Ulster account with one of my Tesco accounts.
You didn't want an easy £5 a month from Halifax?
It didnt suit me, the interest on keeping 5k in there was no better than if I just keep in a savings account, and spending £500 a month on the card would be inconvenient (I'm abroad and also spend do my monthly spending on a cc).
Just pay the credit card using the debit card, done.

Do Lloyds give any money monthly on this account? I have no spare bank accounts that don't pay me money so would lessen the value of £100 somewhat if Lloyds don't keep paying out.

Only the penalty of churning accounts being on your credit file. This may or may not be seen as a penalty.

When logged in, with a Club account already showing, there is, for me at least, no option for opening a Club account - as I said above it's not in the list offered.  And on that page it states quite clearly that second Club account can't be opened online.
Now I have a spare Classic account, if I go to change account type, the same thing happens, Club account is not in the list offered.
So if you were logged in the site is behaving very differently for you!
I have gone into my account area again and will allow me to apply for more Club card accounts.
Club card accounts? What are those?

As an existing Club Lloyds account holder, I can apply for a Classic, a Platinum or a Student account.

My God man why always these pedantic messages? Every other message is some unnecessary put down. Just stop.

Colsten`s post is precise for a very good reason. You need to succeed in applying for a Club Lloyds Current account to enable you benefit from the £100 switch offer.
Use the Current Account Switch Service to switch your current account held elsewhere to a new or existing Club Lloyds account. We’ll arrange for your payments set up on your old account to be transferred, we’ll also redirect any payments sent to your old account. You’ll get £100 paid into your account within 10 working days. Offer ends 9th November 2020. You won’t be eligible for the offer if you’ve received an incentive for switching to a Lloyds Bank current account since April 2018.

  • I applied for the Lloyd's switch on Saturday. All seemed to be going well.

Just received a text now saying my switch can't be progressed and to phone the Lloyd's Bank switching team.

Phoned the number and it asks me whether I am a Halifax customer (press 1) or Bank of Scotland customer (press 2). And that's it!

    I am a bit stumped.

I had that with my last switch. Just press 1 or 2 and they should transfer you to Lloyds.

My wife applied for a Club Lloyds account on Saturday and wanted to switch her Halifax account to them. The application went through OK but she too has had this same text today. She hasn't called them yet but will try tomorrow.
