if i already have a club lloyds account, can i make a new one?
You don't need a new one. Just switch an account into your existing one.

Did you note what Crispianne3 said in the post above.....?

Maybe... but I can't, so the ability doesn't appear universal.
I upgraded an existing ac. and switched into that.

So, why did I try for a new? Long story involving lifestyle benefits log in not working.

I can’t. I’ve got a joint club Lloyd’s and a single normal account. There was no option for me to have another club Lloyd’s though it has been done apparently.
  • This is an extract from this week’s newsletter re the Lloyds inducement: “ You can qualify even if you have an existing Club Lloyds account provided you haven't had switching cash from Club Lloyds or Club Lloyds Platinum since April 2018.” On that basis I contacted Lloyds as I’ve had a Club Lloyds account for many years. They informed me that advice from Martin Lewis is misleading as you need to switch to gain the £100 and therefore it didn’t apply to me. I then had a lengthy discussion about loyal customers effectively being penalised and raised a formal complaint on that basis
Perhaps the advice in the newsletter needed checking for absolute accuracy rather than it misleading readers as it did to me!

I cannot see anything wrong with the info in the newsletter, reproduced below. Which bit(s) do you believe are misleading?

What is the subject of the claim your raised with Lloyds? How are existing customers penalised by the offer?

As an existing Club Lloyds customer, I have already received my £100 switch bonus this week, and so have some others. Totally in line with the T&Cs of the switch offer.

  • Just tried to call to make an appt to open a joint account to swap our current account to. I can’t see a way of doing it online. Automated system sent me round the houses to a final recorded message which said we can’t make an appt today. If that’s the level of service...

You do have to switch but you can switch into the account you already have.

I tried to get a 2nd club account, it told me to go to the branch, so Im guessing it might be possible
