It's long gone down way below what has been available elsewhere. Except for existing Regular / Monthly Savers, which are now also coming up to maturity if they haven't matured alreadyKatiehound said:
Then you need the DDs to earn the interest (which, of course, is going down.... again!)colsten said:
You need no DDs on a Club Lloyds. If you want to avoid the monthly fee, you must deposit at least £1.5k a month.Katiehound said:
No. I am fairly sure you can only have one Club Lloyds a/c.
You will just switch your Halifax into your existing Club Lloyds a/c. And if you already have the 2 x DDs then you get the monthly fee waived. So no nasty DDs to create! (or is it the £1,500 that waives the fee?? & DDs trigger the interest ?)

I've heard that HSBC is really a pain in the a***. An account opening process can take weeks. Is it true?Katiehound said:Well, that was painless. Simples! Switch due to be completed 18 September.

Also, when I do an eligibility check for their credit card, they always ask me exactly what day I moved in and out to/from which address. I moved 3 times in 2 years and I don't remember. It actually depends when I changed my addresses on all my accounts, not when I moved.
Every other 'normal' bank ask you about month and year, just HSBC need to know the day. Perhaps they might even ask what time exactly it was when you entered the new house.

As the £100 gets paid within 10 days is there anything to stop you then switching to RBS or am I missing something?

Offtopic, but why there is no mention of First Direct's switch offer on MSE? They are giving £100 to switchers too!

It's a red herring. As you cannot currently apply for a current account with them, and as existing customers are not eligible for the switch bonus, their £100 offer isn't of any use to anyone right now. Besides, there will be very few MSEers who never had a First Direct account.Alex9384 said:Offtopic, but why there is no mention of First Direct's switch offer on MSE? Message on their website:This means we need to focus our attention on our existing customers and their immediate financial needs. To make sure our people are able to do this, we have taken the decision to withdraw first direct current accounts to new customers.
