@EssexHebridean Is that a non-MSE forum where she is posting, as her MSE account shows there’s been no activity since August? As a fellow motorhomer and dog owner, I loved reading her diary, even though I rarely post, and I still look for any updates.1

Ahh so it does - I'd not checked for a while, and suspect the last time I had was around that time. Apologies for misleading!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Merry Christmas all.
It has been a very busy year with a few unexpected twists and turns thrown in for good measure.
Nothing much to report on the money front. The van is nearly paid for just 3 repayments on that and my car loan balance is coming down nicely.
The big change is that we are in the process of buying a "new house". Not something we had any intention of doing but we had an offer accepted on a beautiful house in the next village about six weeks ago and then on Monday accepted an offer from first time buyers on our house to complete the chain.
Its all moving pretty quickly. The sales are agreed, solicitors instructed and making much better progress than anyone expected and with a bit of luck our mortgage offer might come through today, all of the checks are green ticked off on the mortgage tracker and the automatic valuation has come back fine so presumably they are just finalizing a few bits before issuing the offer.
So our last Christmas in this house and we are very much looking forward to this time next year in our new home. We might even host the family now that we will have room for them all!9 -
It’s good to hear from you again. Sounds like an exciting time ahead with the new house. Have a lovely Christmas.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
