Time to Face The Music

My DIL sells loads on FB, sometimes I think nobody would buy it and the next thing it has been sold. She has also got free pieces of furniture as well. I tried once to sell on FB and it was a disaster.

Hopefully it continues because we have a few more items to list in the next few weeks.

Blimey. It's been a long time since our last update. Life seems busier than ever.

Everything is ticking along nicely. We are loving life in the new house and are gradually getting down the list of jobs that we want to do. The decorating we are waiting until winter to do that and making the most of the good weather we have had. This winters decorating tasks are the hallway and bedroom 2 and if we have time we might do our bedroom and dressing room as well but that isn't a pressing job and can wait until next year if not.

We seem to have lived in the garden for most of this summer so that has had a few jobs done and some much needed cleaning tasks. We have slowly but surely started to make it our own. It's getting a bit late for planting now but for next spring we have plans to add another border in the back garden and replant the frontage which unfortunately the previous owners dug up and astro turfed which looks terrible.

Not much else to report really. Finances are plodding along, savings are building back up and the mortgage balance is coming down nicely. When we get back from our trip to Poland we plan to start overpaying on the mortgage again, now that we have settled into our new monthly budget there is a bit spare to thrown at the mortgage every month. We will do what we did before, start with small over payments, £50 to start with and then build it up over time.

Good to hear from you and glad everything is going well. We have decided over winter to do some jobs in the house , but shudder at the thought of all the stress I’ll have to put up with. DH is great at diy but hasn’t got the patience he used to have doing jobs so going to be interesting time.

When is the Poland trip.

The trip to Poland is less than two weeks away now. We set off on the 16th after work. We are all looking forward to it this year, we have not had a proper break yet this year, all our annual leave early in the year was taken up with the house move and waiting around for deliveries. So this will feel like a well earned break this time.

The dog is doing just fine. He is loving the new house as well. He loves his big garden and he loves charging around inside on the tiled floors. You could easily forget he is almost 10 years old, he seems to have turned into a pup again since the move!

Thankfully the other half is good at DIY and very handy. He has needed to be with this house which you wouldn't have thought with it only being 7 years old like our last one. Luckily at the minute we are enjoying ticking off the little jobs and looking forward to winter to get some decorating done. It is slowly but surely becoming more our style and it definitely is starting to feel more like our home.

No jobs on the house this weekend though. It is a weekend of cleaning and fettling the van while it is forecast to be dry. The aim for this weekend is to have it ready to go which in theory gives us a spare weekend next weekend before we go.
