Its all been part of making it our home. We will laugh about it for a while I'm sure.
I was disappointed when we opened the door, I wont lie. It all felt a bit overwhelming expecting to open the door to an immaculate house and it being dirty, smelly and a bit of a let down. I don't know where the other half got his enthusiasm at that point but it's a good job he did and got stuck in.
I'm over that initial disappointment now and into the very excited stage as I can see it starting to come together and become our home. The more we do the more it becomes ours and the more it becomes the home we expected it to be. Getting the kitchen and utility room finished will be a big milestone and will to be fair be the big and expensive jobs done.
Most of the other stuff we want to do is just a lick of paint barring the bit of block paving to the front.

it sounds as if it’s coming together nicely.
We’ve given the estate agents instructions to sell ours today but as we’re away over Easter until next week…it’ll be next Friday when they come to take photos.
I’m fed up of trowelling t’internet for bungalows already 😂😂 got a few viewings next week when we’re down with family.

Today's new surprise from the house is ants!
Came home after work today to find ants in the hallway 🙈
Going to get some bait boxes tomorrow to hopefully get rid of them 🙄

I sometimes get them in the conservatory in early summer. I use powder stuff.

The powder is toxic to dogs so not using that because our dog will definitely stick his nose in it!

Haven’t caught up properly but I gather from the last few messages you’re in your new home. Congratulations!
I’m sure any teething trouble will soon be forgotten.

Yes we are in thank you.
It's been a baptism of fire so far but it's ours and we are making it our own, despite it protesting somewhat 🤣🤣🤣
We were joking last night that it's like the house in the 90's Tom Hanks film The Money Pit 😆

Back when phone junction boxes were a thing, ants stopped my mother's phone from working! The box was teeming with them. Glad you're settling in @RelievedSheff love Humdinger xx

Glad to see you are now in but yuk to the condition to the house when you moved in. We have not moved house for 38 years but have helped with both our daughters moves (five times between them) over the last ten years and never have any of them been left in the state yours was. The best one was of course brand new. I am sure you will get it straight very soon. Good luck getting rid of the ants.
