Thanks all. It has seemed a long time coming. Although in reality it has probably been pretty quick.

Will be glad to get moved in on Friday.

Yes. Exchange was delayed due to some Help to Buy paperwork that was late arriving. But we were all working for completion on the 20th so we all arranged things around that.

Finally managed to confirm the removals this morning and get them paid. Luckily they were quiet and not booked up!

We moved into our new home eventually yesterday. It was 3pm before completion finally happened so we had a bit of a rush to get the vans unloaded, the removals lads were absolutely brilliant. Would definitely recommend them.

Didn't get as much done as we hoped yesterday with the late start but we got the dining table assembled, the sofa in the kitchen and a bed made up so the essentials were in place.

The dog was not best impressed, he eventually settled down at about 9pm last night. He was very anxious all day. He Definitely seems more settled today.

Today the other half is off out on errands, arranging furniture deliveries and picking up some IKEA flat pack for the study. That's his job tomorrow!

While he has been gone me and the dog have unpacked the kitchen, started hanging our items up and giving everything a good clean. Unfortunately it hasn't been left in a great state of cleanliness but its nothing that a good scrub can't sort out. The oven cleaning man is going to be getting a call before long to come and work his magic!

While the sun is shining I decided to cut the grass. We knew that wasn't in the best condition and we're prepared to put on some hardwork renovating it but I was horrified to find just how much dog poo they had left on it. It was disgusting, no wonder our dog didn't want to go out there!

Many swear words exited my mouth I can tell you. They must have never walked the dogs and just let them outside.

The house is starting to get in some sort of order now and is beginning to resemble somethingof a home. The kitchen is all but there, just waiting for a sideboard to be delivered and some breakfast bar stool and we need to move a light fitting. The main bedroom just needs some pictures putting up. We need more clothes to fill the dressing room, Bedroom 3 is finished.

Tomorrow's job is the study. With the shelves assembled it will clear some more boxes from the living room ready for the sofas arriving in a couple of weeks.

Im looking forward to going to work on Monday for a break 🤣🤣🤣

Congratulations. Glad you finally managed to get into your new home.

Yuk to the excessive amount of dog poo; we had a similar problem when we moved in but once it's sorted you'll be able to keep on top of it. Our problem now is that we don't have a dog but dogs still use the grass at the front as a toilet so I'm still clearing it up!

You seem to have got loads done in a very short time. I'm sure you'll have it all sorted very soon.

I had a sense of humour failure about it earlier. Got over it now I've got a beer 🤣🤣🤣

It's galling when we left the old house spotless to come and find this one scruffy, especially when it was so clean when we viewed it.

Still. It won't take us long to get the topside of it. We are at least starting to lose the horrible dog smell from the kitchen and utility room.

We are not using the living room yet so that's still distinctly doggy 🤢

A carpet cleaner is next on the purchase list. They look clean but I'm going to freshen them up anyway.

I can’t believe people would leave such a mess behind 😡 No wonder your dog was unsettled, he’d be able to smell the dog aroma. Carpet cleaner wise I can highly recommend the 🦈 one.
