The money from the van makes up the extra for the mortgage payment on the new house so no extra for savings, but equally we won't miss what we are used to not having. 😊

We will have a bit more to find for utility bills which will be higher on the new house with it being a lot bigger, but we have both had a pay rise last month which covers most of what we expect the extra to be. So in theory we won't be much, if any worse off than we are now just in a bigger house with more room for parties 😀

The solicitors are all aiming for a completion date of 20th March, so four weeks today all being well.

We decided to do the packing a little at a time, a couple of hours here and a couple of hours there so it doesn't feel like such a big job. It also means that we can take things to the tip a bit at a time in the car rather than hiring a skip this time round because we do have more time.

It is strange seeing the house become more and more empty as more things get packed away into boxes. It's becoming less our home now. Feels more like we are camping out in someone else's house.

What we are happy about this time is that we are not having to borrow any money for the extra furniture we will need for a bigger house. We will have enough from savings and a tiny bit of equity we are taking out to buy everything we need and pay all moving costs. Which does mean that we start on a lot better footing after this move than we did with the last one.

We have had a productive weekend so far.

The kitchen is packed up Barring the essentials we will need over the next few weeks. The empty cupboards have been deep cleaned as well so will only want a quick wipe out the day before we leave.

The other half has been busy in the garden and garage. He has been ruthless with it. Much more so then the last time we moved. It's a good job the tip isn't far away!

We are almost done for the day. Just one more tip run and a quick wipe around in the car and then we will head out to enjoy the sunshine and walk the dog. Might even treat ourselves to a beer or two at the pub.

We have lined ourselves up for a steady few weekends now. The bulk of the packing and clearing out is done now.

I know 5 years since we ordered our MH too. It was the first day shops reopened after covid…..12 April. We had to wait until September though as it kept getting pushed back by the manufacturer. I know we both got them about the same time.

It doesn't seem like two minutes ago!

We have not used ours yet this year, been too busy with the house sale and purchase but we are getting in a cheeky weekend away in the van this weekend while we have a weekend we can spare. We are both weirdly really looking forward too it despite only going 20 minutes down the road. 🤣

We have had the good news this weekend that our buyers solicitors are now happy with the information we supplied last week and are now ready to exchanges contracts. So they are all gearing up for that to happen early next week with a completion date set for the 20th March.

    It's getting exciting now.

The new bedding for our huge new bed has arrived this week. So looking forward to a new bed, new mattress, new duvet, new pillow, new bedding and all in a new big room 😍

The other half thinks I've gone mad that is the thing I'm looking forward too the most!!

It’s very exciting for you to plan your new house. Enjoy the planning and the new bigger bed 😜

We’re still in the process of decluttering but we need to get a move on (well Dh does🥴) I’d like to get in valued before Easter and then when we go down to dds at Easter we have a better idea in our heads what we can look at. We’re very tempted to trade Millie Motorhome in and use the cash towards a better house…..still weighing up the pros and cons.

Have a great weekend away 👍
