I'm ok now thanks. Definitely on the mend. Had a rough few days, definitely do not want whatever version this was again!
I'm back at work today but it's early finish day so not a full day. Plan to have a very quiet weekend at home this weekend not doing much at all. I think ordering bubble wrap and parcel tape is going to be the highlight of the weekend
Nothing much to report on the house front. It's been a quiet week on that score. Everyone is waiting on local authority searches to come back which is currently holding up much more progress on both the purchase and sales side for us.
Not much more any of us can do at this point. It's just a waiting game.1 -
Take it easy and don’t rush back doing everything too soon 👍

Boring @RelievedSheff? Bubble wrap and parcel tape are the foundation of many delightful crafts! You could make an insulated super-hero cloak. Love Humdinger xx1

Thanks both.
It's been a quieter week work and house wise.
We have returned the signed contracts and transfer deeds for the sale of our house. So that side of the transaction is sorted and ready to exchange when the purchase side is ready.
A covenant issue has raised its head on the purchase side but we believe we can find a way around it given the widespread breaching of the covenant already on the estate. So hopefully not a deal breaker.0 -
Assume the covenant issue is the motorhome? It quite often is on new builds but sounds like others are already breaking this so shouldn't be a problem.
We had the same where we live but there were already so many sign written vans, caravans and motorhomes that we weren't worried by it. The builders were long gone by the time we moved here! It's usually when the builders are still around and have new houses to sell that the covenants are more likely to be enforced but once they're gone not usually a problem.1 -
It is the motorhome. The covenant is already widely broken on the estate with quite a few commercial vehicles and a couple of campervans already parked on there, and Google Maps shows this has been an ongoing breach of covenant for some time.
We are not unduly worried about it and will be parking the van on the drive.
No doubt the solicitors will make a meal of it though!0 -
Mmmmmm…..interesting about the motorhome covenant. Hope it works out ok for you.January spends - £587.580

We have had some further clarification on the covenants from our solicitors today. The wording isn't very clear on them, but it turns out that although the covenants are "for the benefit of" the other residents and the management company, it would have to be the developers that enforced the covenants.
I have already spoken to the developers, I work with them, and they have confirmed that they just wouldn't enforce them now that they are not on site.
So it is a bit of a non issue really.
Our solicitors have had satisfactory responses back to the few queries that they raised.
We have just got some management company paperwork to fill in and sign and then we are pretty much ready to sign contracts.
Halifax tinkered with their mortgage rates again this week which resulted in us switching deals again. Not a massive saving but its another £10 a month in our pocket not theirs. We will keep an eye out for any more reductions between now and March.
This is all going far too smoothly 🤣🤣🤣5 -
We have been gathering quotes together for the removals this week.
A local company have come in at the most competitive price with the best cancellation policy so we will let them do the job for us. Added bonus that they are going to drop us some packing boxes off as well.
The weather was too nice to start packing yesterday so we had a run out to Newark to make the most of the sunshine.

We are definitely going to start packing up non essentials and things we don't need day to day next weekend to spread it out.2 -
Looks lovely in the photos 👍
Pleased the motorhome parking at your new to be home doesn’t seem an issue after all.January spends - £587.582
