Never say never with house moves. The right place calls to you very loudly even if you had no plans (or need) to move. Your current house has done sterling service while you waited for this one, even though you didn't know you were waiting !!

We've lived here for 15 years which is the longest I've lived anywhere and I have very itchy feet. Please keep me off Rightmove. We do want another move, to a different area but there is a substantial price difference so we would probably need to go a bit smaller. To do that, we really need to be done with boomerang offspring and I have a feeling we're not quite there yet.

Happy New Year - its nice to see you back.

We live in a lovely small village and love the atmosphere here, only problem is that there are currently 3 proposals for development on the out skirts of the village. It will double the size of the village, but suppose it’s happening everywhere.

Lovely way to start the spring with a new house. Lets hope everything goes smoothly and you are soon in.

The house we are buying is the same age as ours. So with this estate and the slightly newer one next door they did literally double the size of the village in a few years.

Luckily there isn't really much other room for expansion of the village with the ring road, railway and canal forming the borders.

There is one more field which will almost certainly be built on at some point but that won't bother us with where we are located.

That's a nice way to think about it 😀

We never imagined we could buy a house like this one. We always thought it would be out of our reach.

There are a couple of large elephants in the room though, which we are under no illusion, it is the only reason we could afford this house.

Two very large distribution centres have been very recently built close to the bottom end of the estate. They are very new and don't have companies in them yet, they are currently sat empty.

You can't see them from the property we are buying but the big unknown is how much noise they will make. We are as far away as we could be on the estate and the loading bays and plant bays are at the opposite ends of the buildings so hopefully noise will be too a minimum but we know it is a big gamble.

We are closer to the A57 as well. But we have heard the noise from that and it really doesn't bother us, depending on wind direction we can hear that from our house now anyway.

We are going into this one well aware that there are unknowns. But the plus sides of the property far outweigh that.

I remember when I first bought this house nearly 40 years ago someone saying it was a bit near the motorway. Now there are houses as near as it’s possible to be to the motorway in the village I live in and the one next door. In fact I would say it’s no longer a village but a town.
I have always lived my house.

The proximity to the A57 really doesn't bother us. There are houses in the village that back onto it, this one is nowhere near that close.

You can't hear it in the house at all and in the back garden it is well baffled. At least that is a known noise. We have walked around the estate plenty so know that side of it.

Glad to hear it’s still moving along @RelievedSheff I thought it might be a much older property rather than another new one. That said although we still live in a Victorian house, with the upgrades the former owners made it’s always warm and I get what people mean when they say they wouldn’t go back. I wouldn’t go back to somewhere like my old place without making some big changes now. Hopefully the sheds won’t cause you too much bother in the future.

Never say never with house moves haha, I need to get some value before paying !!!!!! SDLT again @warby68. Idk slowly accepting I’ve probably not got another rung on the ladder.
