The rain stopped at about midday so we ventured out into the garden to plant this years veggies. Still had compost and seeds left from last year so no additional cost for these ones.

We have planted rainbow chard, carrots, rainbow beetroot and some salad leaves this time.

Also planted some new herbs in the pots on the garage wall. See if we can keep these alive this year. Although we do seem to have managed to keep last year's chives alive!

We have just taken the dog for a walk around the block. My ankle seems to be easing up now with some use. No doubt it will sieze up again tonight.

Time to prep dinner I think. The dog is sound asleep again. Don't think he will be much bother this afternoon.

Monday has come around quick again.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores today. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken and bacon wraps with a few sweet potato wedges made with some leftovers from the weekend.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • weekly shop
Typical that the weather is beautiful today now that we are back at work!

Hope you’re healing well mate. I managed to get an hour or so in the garden too yesterday nothing done tbh was just looking at what I think we should do with my wife.

The weather is nice here too this morning. Think it’ll be a walk to one of the cafes with my wife for lunch.

On the mend now. Ankle is just stiff more than anything now. Still swollen and bruised but I guess that will take a few days to go down.

It's been nice spending some time in the garden. Looking forward to summer out there now.

With one eye on future energy prices this year we have decided to take a fixed deal with our energy provider. It is lower than the April price cap and looks as though it will be slightly lower than the July predicted price cap as well.

There are no exit fees if we want to change to a new tariff with our provider so we have nothing to lose really.

They have adjusted our monthly repayment down to £100 which I think is about right and saves us £13 a month over the April SVR price cap prices.

It also provides us some comfort for next winters energy prices which are forecast to rise again although not by the amounts seen in the last couple of winters.

Mid week already. Another week flying by. We will soon be a quarter of the way through this year already!

£393 sent to the motorhome loan this morning.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chicken breast in a blue cheese and mushroom sauce with wholegrain rice and some greens.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
    • delivering Easter eggs to family
    • weigh in Wednesday
The £13 a month we have saved on the energy bills has soon been wiped out. We got this years council tax bill through and that has gone up £7 a month. On top of that our mobile phone bills (sim only) have both gone up a small amount and the broadband has gone up. At least it only puts us back to where we started again rather than going backwards with the budget though!
