Have a fabulous time up north!

Second hand vehicle prices seem to have generally been high over the past few years - I've had my Clio 4 years now and it's only recently that I could buy one of the same age and mileage for less than I paid for mine. Amazing.

Just pulled in at Scotch Corner. The drive up here was terrible. Heavy traffic, heavy rain and terrible spray conditions.

Took 2 hours 20 minutes to do a journey that should take an hour and a half.

Glad we managed to find a spot between the lorries here. Didn't fancy driving any further. Don't expect it will be a quiet night mind!

You're not so far from us! (Waves). Sorry about the weather.

Have a lovely time in Scotland!

We survived a night in the lay by. We both got more sleep than we thought we would. There were plenty of lorries coming and going but they generally didn't disturb us too much.

We are now on the M6 and have just called into some services for a bite to eat, drain the dog and a driver change.

Hope you have a good run through to Scotland.  It's a long drive but good that you can both drive the van.  We've decided not to go anywhere this weekend and to stay home and hopefully get some time in the garden.  Today's looking to be good with bright sunshine at the moment although showers are forecast later.

It was a long haul up here yesterday even though the traffic wasn't too bad. We got here at about 11am and had a relaxing day catching up over a few beers and a beautiful homemade curry. We were shattered after the long drive so it was an early night for us.

Today we are heading out on lots of walks with the dog. It has rained heavy overnight so expect they will be muddy walks!

It was another tiring day of walking and lots of fresh air yesterday. The weather couldn't make its mind up and we had all four seasons in one day. Snow and hail in the morning and brilliant sunshine in the afternoon. We even managed to sit out in the garden with a beer.

Another day of walking in store today. We are heading to the coast.

What a beautiful day we were treated too yesterday. We had a lovely day at the coast followed by drinks in the garden. It was a really nice day.

Sadly it is the long drive home today and we expect it to be a long drive with the bank holiday traffic.

Just having a coffee and some toast and then we will head off. Going to stop for lunch somewhere on the way back. Not sure where yet.
