Friday at last. We are both looking forward to a chilled out weekend.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was porridge, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is goat burgers with cajun potato wedges, beer battered onion rings and homemade coleslaw.
No jobs to do tonight other than walking the dog. It will be a chilled out evening with a couple of beers on the sofa watching a film and an early night into bed. We both want to try and shake off the remains of this cold this weekend. It seems to be lingering on!0 -
Hoping for a chilled out day today. Not got much to do. Need to wash the bedding, nip to the farm shop and put some diesel in the car.
Must walk the dog as well. Will go somewhere local with him today.
Having a bacon and eggs sandwich for breakfast and when our friends come over for a few hours later I will order in some takeaway pizza.
Hoping to slot in an early night as well. Get rid of this lingering lurgy!0 -
We have just been and bought some bathroom scales. Not sure what brought it on but the other half has been wanting to get some.
We are both heavier than we would like so it's challenge on to see who can lose the most before our summer holiday in July 😀
To be honest I was quote shocked how much I weighed. Definitely time to shed some pounds before it gets out of hand. I have weighed more in the past but I have weighed much less as well. My BMI is firmly in the over weight category according to the NHS app!
I would be happy to drop a stone I think by July. So steady away.

We had a lovely evening with friends last night. It was well gone midnight when they left.
It will be a quiet day in comparison today. Nothing much planned. Think we are going for a long dog walk after breakfast. Think we are going up to the gold course. Not walked up there for a long time and there are some nice walks up there.
We are having a bacon sandwich for breakfast and dinner later is slow cooked Highland cow silverside with some mashed potatoes and vegetables.0 -
If it helps, BMI is largely irrelevant on a couple of levels. Firstly it was never intended to be used on an individual level - its inventor instigated it as being useful on a wider population level only. The second aspect is that it relies on data points taken from a (if I recall all the detail correctly) middle aged white European male - meaning that the measure it uses will always be inaccurate if you are not that exact model of human. Nutrition professionals have very much stepped away from using it as they are aware that it’s not helpful - sadly the shift is slower to percolate through the rest of the NHS. At one stage I know it was said that according to the BMI scale every single member of the England men’s senior rugby union squad was classified as at the least “overweight” and in a good many cases “obese” - and I for one am not going to telling those boys they’re fat! 😆
For women of course one hugely important thing is weight bearing exercise - so maybe you could aim to step up the pace of the dog walks to “brisk” a few times a week? I aim to keep a fair bit of my walking with my heart rate above 100 bpm. Some kind of resistance work can also be useful, but this can include lifting heavy shopping bags, carrying the vacuum cleaner upstairs and digging the garden, among many other things!Steady is definitely the right way to make changes whether those changes result in a change in body size/shape or not. And keeping it fun too - it always baffles me that people are surprised that they don’t keep up an exercise plan when they are seeing it as a chore from the start!Hopefully your visit from your friends was a good one - and the pizza was tasty! Not had bought in pizzas for ages here - technically we still have a “credit” for the takeaway we never had over Christmas, so maybe that might be a good use for it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We had a curry instead which turned into a farce. It took two hours from ordering to getting it delivered!
It was nice but it was expensive and we won't be ordering it again in a hurry.
We have some neighbours round next Saturday and I am definitely making a curry rather than ordering one in.
We are definitely taking it slow and steady with the weight loss. Just making small changes to diet and exercise. We are only looking to lose a couple of pounds a month and more importantly keep it off this time.
Glad we have caught it before it gets out of hand this time though.1 -
Eek to 2 hours for a takeaway delivery - yes, that certainly would put you off wouldn’t it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We haven’t had a takeaway for years because we’ve generally been disappointed with them. 2 hours wait is too long.Great idea to take it slow and steady with the weight loss. I see far too many people going hell for leather and falling at the first hurdle. It’s all about small gradual changes.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
