Oh no to the cold sores, must be your immune system low after the cold. Our dog got up had some breakfast then went back to bed 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

We did manage to convince the dog to come for a walk in the woods earlier which he enjoyed and the fresh air did us all some good.
Back home and with dinner prepped we broke out the monopoly board. Didn't go in my favour again as usual.
Wasted a couple of hours mind.
Dog has gone upstairs to bed. He is in a funny mood today. Must take him around the block again soon.
Another weekend almost over!0 -
Seems to be something going on with dogs this weekend, Mum's little Cavachon has been off colour all weekend and was distinctly sorry for herself yesterday morning when we saw her, although apparently she had her appetite back later on a positively inhaled a bowl of chicken and rice!
Not played Monopoly for ages - we tend to get jigsaws out these days when we want some low key entertainment - that works well for us as it means we can each dip in and out when we feel like it - the only rule is that we have to be together when the last few pieces are placed!
Great work on increasing the mortgage OP. I think where you put any extra really comes down to how "permanent" you want it to be - if you are using your PBs as your long term emergency fund, then I'd go with putting it there, as you tend to dip in to the savings for regular expenses still don't you?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

This lunchtime has been spent sorting out paperwork and applications for clean air zone permits for our European trip later in the year.
Belgium was free but needed registering for the three separate clean air zones. France is only a few euros, we bought one for last years trip but it now displays the wrong reg number after we put a private plate on the van and Germany was six euro which was a new application.
We don't need to register for the clean air zones in the Netherlands and the van is allowed in the green zones anyway and Luxembourg doesn't have any clean air zones to worry about.
Just another layer of paperwork to sort out before a trip now.
In fact we must check that we still comply with the Portsmouth clean air zone for catching the ferry to the Isle of Wight as well!0 -
It was a chilly start this morning. Had to scrape the car before we could set off.

We had to squash our recycling bin down last week although our bin men will usually take things left at the side of the bin this time of year. Next week it's the first glass recycling bin collection for a month so expect they'll be flexing their muscles in readiness for that 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Yesterday was our general rubbish collection, the first since the middle of December it was surprisingly only about a third full. Our recycling bin has nearly a week until collection and is full we have already pushed it down, so I'm hoping we can squeeze it down some more. Glass collection ceased here over a decade ago, I took a large bag to the glass bank at the weekend. I only have tetra packs to drop off for recycling and then we should be back to normal.

We have another week of bin collections being later than usual and then we are back to normal thank goodness.
We should be alright now we have had both bins emptied, we don't usually have full bins anyway. We did take some bigger items to the tip at the weekend though to get them out of the way.
Might see about another tip run this weekend if we get time. We have some boxes that could do with getting rid of.1 -
We seem quite fortunate with rubbish collections as our recycling bin takes glass, tins and paper (not though we have much paper or card these days as it mostly gets burned!) so we don't have to faff about with separate containers which is handy. They do insist the lids have to be right down, but when we moved we found they were also very willing to take separate boxes of stuff alongside the bin - I just wrote on them that it was all recycling and we had just moved and would be reaaaaally grateful if they would take them - and my emotional blackmail worked a treat! we also continued to get bin collections right the way through Christmas which I was surprised about - we're still off kilter for collection days this week too but back to normal next I think. Goodness - I think that might be the first time I've ever found anything good to say about our local council!
You've also reminded me I was going to look up about the electrical items collection - although we may yet book for a tip run at the weekend as we do have some stuff to get shot of.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
