Our recycling is also all in one bin which gets collected fortnightly; anything which doesn't fit in can be put in a box or paper carrier bag at the side and will also be collected.  General rubbish is also collected fortnightly.

Garden bins are collected on the same week at general rubbish but 2 days earlier!  This has to be paid for annually but is collected throughout the whole year although nowhere near as much goes into it in the winter!

We can also recycle batteries and small electrical by placing a carrier on the top of the recycle rubbish bin.  Textiles will be taken if placed in a bag on top of the general rubbish bin to be recycled.

Looks like we're quite lucky in that our bin collections are back to normal this week!

I am just amazed at how different councils do manage their recycling.
No glass, batteries or textiles here unless you take them to a recycling point.

It wasn't on the list but I am going to put it on as a back up stop if we can't get in at Prum. Thank you.

No glass, batteries or textiles for us either. We have to take those to the tip.

Mid week already. Finances are ticking along nicely, it's always a quiet time of the month for those. Not much happening.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is loch trout with noodles and stir fried vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • cleaning the kitchen
Our friends who are supposed to be stopping over at ours at the weekend rang up last night. They are popping across for a few hours in the afternoon but won't be able to stay over. Sounds bad but we are happy about that. It will be nice to see them and have a catch up but we are both still feeling the back end of this cold so didn't really fancy guests staying over. Will order some takeaway pizza in and have a catch up over a few beers. Nice and easy.

Sometimes you just want a low key catch up without the additional faff of an overnight stay, don't you. Actually, that can apply both ways I think!

Quiet on the finances front here as well - you'd think we'd welcome it rather than finding it a bit boring really, wouldn't you!

    Another day at the grindstone.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is firecracker chicken with rice and vegetables.

    Tonight's jobs are:
    • walking the dog
    • load of washing
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms
A busier night tonight but it does mean that we can have a quiet night with no jobs to do tomorrow night. Future me will appreciate that I'm sure.

I think we just need a couple of quieter weekends to reset and have a bit of a break. Make the most of it while we can because it is lining up to be a busy few months again.

We should be thankful for quiet finances I suppose!!
