We love a good haggisSun_Addict said:Morning 😀 No mundane evening meals for you, I bet there's not many people having haggis tonight.

That's something I've never tried! Just doesn't appeal to me but I'm sure DH would eat it as he'll try absolutely anything!

We love it. But as with anything it has to be a good one. There are some really poor examples out there but a good quality butchers haggis is beautiful.
A proper hearty filling meal.2 -
@Sun_Addict did cross my mind until you said how long ago hope you’ve not worked for me in the past, that’d be embarrassing haha. Lots of civil service on here thought you were all most sensible people on the planet tbh no debt lol.I had thought you liked your holidays with the name. Do you take husband too or go with mates?Ha he and I would probably get on well lol. When I read your diary saying what happened to your husband I was shocked tbh, life is definitely too short and your attitude to life 100 admirable.@RelievedSheff I’ve never had haggis either but can imagine very hit or miss.4

£300 paid off card 3 today.
Other than the above it will be a no spends day.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will have sandwiches for my lunch today and dinner tonight is slow cooked cider gammon with air fried chips and vegetables.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- vacuuming the house
- cleaning the bathrooms
- sticking dinner in the slow cooker
- watering the house plants
- walking the dog x 2

Is the slow cooked gammon a recipe? I usually just roast but wouldn't mind a change.

It is super simple. Just stick the gammon in the slow cooker with a bottle of cider and good on low for at least 6 hours.warby68 said:Is the slow cooked gammon a recipe? I usually just roast but wouldn't mind a change.
It comes out with a lovely sweet taste from the cider. We will have this tonight for dinner and then there will be some left over for sandwiches and lunch tomorrow.3 -
Brilliant thanks. Sounds a bit like the coke one but simpler

With 3 male adults currently at home, a nice big joint is really useful.4 -
It works equally as well with a bottle of beer but is a bit sweeter when made with cider.3

That gammon in cider sounds like something my OH would love. I once made a Jamie Oliver recipe with vegetables cooked in cider, it was lovely.
@alt80 you're far too young for me to have worked for you 😂 I go on holiday with my other half, don't think he'd be too happy if I went with friends and left him at home. He was only 47 when he became ill, he'd been very stressed about work for some time before and I really think the stress played a big part in causing the cancer.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
