I do think it is important not to view repaying debts as a punishment.

We tackled debt in the same way @RelievedSheff but it's great once it's finally gone and all your money is your own!
We've been debt free for quite a few years now and definitely glad we had it sorted out well before we retired.2 -
Looking good.

Weather is much cooler here but yesterday was crazy.
You're doing great; having a life whilst paying the debt down, don't let anyone make you feel guilty about that, you are smashing it. I need to take your approach and get a grip on my personal finances tbh my spending is at ridiculous levels again. Anyhow, majority of your debt now is for your van so I think that not using it would be a complete waste and in essence paying a debt down for nothing. As it is you are enjoying it, getting your money's worth and having a good time too win win. You have what is in the grand scheme of things not a great deal of credit card debt and all on 0% so really not a big deal at all.

It's raining at last and a good deal cooler. Finally managed to make a big difference in the temperature in the house. It is still a bit hot in there this morning but another evening with all the windows and doors open and I reckon it will be back down to normal again.
Not quite a no spends day. I have just nipped to the shops to pick a couple of bits up for the van this weekend. Nothing expensive and all stuff we needed.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores though. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chinese pork loin with stir fried vegetables and noodles.
We are going to take the dog for a decent walk tonight while it is a lot cooler. Not sure where yet.
Tonight's jobs after work are:- cleaning the kitchen (this won't take long it has hardly been used this week!!)
- cleaning the bathrooms

We definitely feel like we are getting our monies worth from the van. Plus when we are away in it, we don't seem to spend loads of money. It is mostly a cheap weekend away or a cheap holiday.
I think that has been the major change for us when compared with the boat. We hadn't realised just how much money we spent on going out previously. It wasn't just the expense of keeping, running and maintaining the thing. It was the social aspect of it as well that was costing us an arm and a leg that we couldn't afford really.
It has been a refreshing change not only to have a change of scenery but to find something that we enjoy doing that we can genuinely afford to do while paying down our debts at a reasonable rate.
I'm sure you will find your happy medium eventually. But for now I think you need to concentrate on your health and your family life. The rest can follow on at a later date. Glad to see you sounding much more positive of late3 -
Our house has really retained the heat which is good in one way I suppose. Shame it can't be stored up for winter!
