We have had a change of plan for dinner tonight. The other half fancies nipping up to the local pub for their BOGOF burger night.
We still have vouchers so it will only cost us a couple of quid. So why not?
We will walk up today while the weather is good for walking and kill two birds with one stone. The dog gets a walk and we get a burger. Sure the dog will get some burger as well 😀3 -
Sounds like another great weekend ahead. Good idea about the burgers and walk combined. I wish our local pub did deals, we'd go more often if they did.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

It was really busy in the pub last night which was nice to see for them but it did unfortunately mean that our food really wasn't that good. They had run out of a lot of stuff and what they did have left wasn't as good as it should have been.Sun_Addict said:Sounds like another great weekend ahead. We didn't really overly enjoy our meal.
You win some you lose some I guess.
We know it usually is good food in there so we will let it go down as one of those things and expect better next time.1 -
It will be a no spends day today.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is chinese pork with jacket potato and vegetables.
I realised when we almost got to work that I forgot to plug the van in this morning to cool down the fridge. Not the end of the world this weekend, we are not taking loads of food as we are eating out for most of the weekend. I will just take us some cold beers from the kitchen fridge in a cool bag for tonight. The fridge will cool down on gas and be down to temperature properly by the morning.
We need to fill the van up with water as well. Can do this while the other half is having a shower. Then we are ready to go.1 -
@RelievedSheff - have you got some frozen ice packs in the home freezer? If you have these will cool the fridge down a fair bit while you're travelling. Good idea to use a cool bag for the cold beers though!
Enjoy your weekend away, sounds good.

No we don't have any ice packs in the freezer.
We will just have to make the most of what we have. Thankfully it isn't too hot today so it shouldn't take all that long for the fridge to cool down once we get parked up and it is running on gas.1 -
Just get the fridge plugged in as soon as you get in. Any time on electric before you go will start to cool the fridge and then keep it at that temperature on 12V while you're driving before getting it onto gas. Good job it wasn't the beginning of the week!
Have a great weekend. Just wish we'd got our van back but still waiting on the garage getting parts and no idea how long that will be!

There won't really be any time to plug it in. By the time I have had a quick shower, the other half will be back from walking the dog then he will get the van straight out of the drive so I can fill it up with water.joedenise said:Just get the fridge plugged in as soon as you get in.
