I have tasked myself with looking into our life insurance today. The policy we took out 3 years ago when we bought our current house was arranged by the mortgage broker we used and we have always felt it a little on the expensive side at £63 per month for a joint policy.

Half an hours work and I have got the price down to £19 per month for a policy which covers everything the old one did and covers a slightly higher amount should the worst happen to one of us.

A £44 per month saving is not to be sneezed at!

Nice saving for I assume same amount of cover so not losing out, win win there.

Bit lighter evenings here too and my cherry tree really blossoming now; spring won’t be too far away.

Well that proves the shop around point with bells on.

Great saving going forward - some way towards the fuel increases

Not a no spends day today. £100 sent to the Paypal account and we need to go and do some shopping tonight after work and get some bits and pieces for the weekend.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is a pizza and a few beers on the sofa watching a couple of films.

The other half will take the dog for a walk tonight while I am in the supermarket. They have a nice wooded riverside walk alongside the store. The dog likes it in there. So other than putting the shopping away and setting the washing machine to do a load of washing overnight, we don't have anything else to do other then chill out and unwind tonight.
