Robins have staked their claim on one of our bird boxes so looks like spring is definitely on the way.

No spends day number 4 of February today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is rib eye steak with air fried cajun chips, beer battered onion rings, garlic stuffed Portobello mushrooms, roasted onions and asparagus.

Not planning to do any jobs tonight after work other than walking the dog.

Not a no spends day today. We have some friends coming to stop over with us this weekend so we have gone to do the beer shop this morning and I am at the dentist at 9am. £100 sent to card 6 as well.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is a beef casserole which is currently in the slow cooker and will be served in a giant Yorkshire pudding.

Tonight we have a few bits of tidying up around the house to get done ready for our friends coming on Friday night. They are arriving at 6pm so we won't have time to do anything on Friday evening before they get here. We don't normally get home until around 5.45pm.

I have a load of washing to put away when I get home, assuming it has dried. The washer dryer is being very hit and miss again. When it is on form we make the most of it. It washed and dried two loads on Sunday so chances are it won't dry tonight.
  • That washer/dryer is a pain isn't it. I suspect ours might be on borrowed time as it's got a lot noisier than it used to be - we agreed a while back that when this one dies we'll be going in for a pricier make that might actually be something someone will be willing to repair when (or hopefully if) it goes wrong.

I don't know if the dentist has just been a bit heavy handed today but I have come away with terrible tooth ache and a banging headache. Hopefully it will subside quickly.

It is over 4 years old now which is longer than we used to manage out of ordinary washing machines so we wouldn't really complain if we did have to replace it. Like you though we have agreed to buy a more expensive one next time.

The annoying thing is we get to the point of deciding to replace it and then it starts working again.

Don't expect we will be getting much sleep tonight. The wind is blowing in just the right direction that we are getting the full force of it on the gable end where our bedroom is 😕

  • Only 4 years out of a washing machine? I'd expect much longer! I've had my washing machine for 6 years, no hint of issues and it wasn't expensive!
