Sounds like a double helping of good news for you today :) Nice one!
No doubt there will be some bad news lurking somewhere to regain the balance 🤣🤣🤣

That's good news, especially as you can get the minor bits done under warranty.
It isn't a bad warranty they gave us. 3 years. The claim value can be up to the value of the van in the first year, upto £1k in year 2 and up to £500 in year 3.

We made sure we got the hab check done in good time in year 1 in case anything major was found while the warranty is at its best.

The dealership is only just a couple of miles down the road so it shouldn't be an ordeal to get it repaired, although that could be famous last words 😕

Just to round off the good news for today.

Our washer dryer has been playing up again. It was getting so as it didn't dry a load more often than it did dry a load.

We were convinced that it was faulty and we would have to replace it soon.

This morning I remembered that the last time it played up like this the sink vent pipe was blocked. I checked it and low and behold it was fully blocked again with what can only be described as a black slime 🤢

I have cleaned it out and stuck a load of washing in and it appears to have done the trick. The dryer is currently mid way through drying a load 😃

Now we need to get to the bottom of the cause of the "slime"

It gets washing machine cleaner through it a few times a year. I don't think this particular problem is with the machine, I think it is how the plumbing is all rigged up under the sink.

We never have any problems with things draining. The problem only occurs when the sink over flow which presumably acts as an air vent as well gets blocked up.

It has happened twice now in a little under three years so we need to keep an eye on it and try to get to the bottom of why it keeps happening🤔

@RelievedSheff - My washing machine has a Drum Wash programme on it which I use when it lights up, or any time when I think it needs to be done.  It's just an empty wash at 90 degrees.  It clears out any excess washing detergent and cleans the pipework - at least I think that's what it does!

Could be worth doing every 3-4 months and seeing if that helps.

Looks like you had a nice time in York and hope this weekend is a good one for you too.

Good news re maintenance on van etc. reading your post about energy got me thinking I’ve not really looked into it just know we aren’t getting the council tax rebate and most of the country is. Our electricity and gas was bad enough before all this started and we added an electric car into the mix tbh ha.

Good to hear from you Alt.

To be honest I doubt the council tax rebate is going to make much if any difference to most people. Broken down per month it will hardly make a dent in the rising cost of living.

The van is now loaded up and ready to go. We had it straddled across ours and our neighbours drive (with their permission) while the hab check was done, the chap needed access to both sides of the van.

So I have had to get if out of the drive for the first time before the neighbours come home 😬

It's still in one piece 🤣🤣🤣
