As expected today the BOE have raised their interest rates and the energy price cap has risen substantially.

Not much good news in the news today :(

Come April when the new energy price cap comes into play I think we will maybe have to have a rethink about repayments to some accounts and have a juggle of numbers and repayments to swallow up the difference with the rising prices of energy, fuel for the cars, food, drink, bills, etc.

I am thankful that we can do this. I know that there will be many that are not in the same position and will definitely struggle this year.

The paper was full of doom and gloom today, although that’s nothing new. I’ll have to have a reshuffle of pots to swallow up the difference too if I don’t get a promotion soon. Also thankful I can do this, it’s going to be awful for many people.

It will be a spendy day again today. Not doing well with the no spends so far this month.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I have a jacket potato for my lunch and dinner tonight is fish pie and vegetables somewhere in the Peak District on the van.

Today we have a chap coming to service the boiler at home and a chap coming to do the hab check, which is like an annual safety test, on the van.

Fingers crossed both go without a hitch.

Other than that I will be cleaning the house and the van. So a busy day in store for me today despite it being a day off work.
  • Good luck with the servicing, hopefully it'll go well and if there are any costs they will be minimal

I'm sure you'll soon catch up with the no spend days, you did exceptionally well last month. Have a good weekend in the Peak District.

Boiler service done. That was thankfully all fine.

The chap is now doing the hab check on the van. I don't know why but I'm quite nervous about it 😕

    It worse than MOT time!

Neednt have worried about the van. It has a clean bill of health apart from a couple of minor bits we already know about.

Just need to sort out getting it to the dealers for a couple of parts replacing under warranty.
  • Sounds like a double helping of good news for you today :) Nice one!

That's good news, especially as you can get the minor bits done under warranty.
